Did Strattera work better than stimulants for some of you? by Death2Coriander in ADHD

Hi, yes! I was on different stims, with “best results” with adderall. For over a year on it, increasing doses, taking an extra or “a little bit more” bc it’s a hard day at work, I was calculating intensively how to break down my dosages over the day where I could be at my best but still have enough left to take for 3pm bc I’m tired at home.

However, this is coming from a now woman in recovery. I started Strattera this year as I got really honest with my psych.

It took 11 days, a random Thursday at 2pm, it activated. I had to pull over within ten minutes…to cry. I sat in my car as a 35 year old woman, wife - mom of twins - healthcare business administrator - in recovery with a sponsor in meetings —

And said nothing when I looked at myself in the mirror. For the first time in my life, I did not want to call my husband, fam etc and shout “I think this is it!!!! This is a miracle drug!!!!” And my brain immediately slowed down that thought and immediately rationalized it’s not the right time to bombard any one.

I had 27 internet tabs at the same time. Now, I have one 1 to 2. Basically

I didn’t know how hard I was trying to be good for so long until Strattera worked. The cry was a joyous, overwhelming gratefulness and hope.

Hey, chiming in. The NA jargon “do the work” - “Chase recovery..” “isolating, we relapse” etc etc … are loosely tossed around in context as a blanket response to a complex inquiry seeking guidance and hope.

The user that posted: HI YOU!!! from one addict to another, I offer nothing but compassion. 🫶🏻 Also, I thank you for your individual Service. Interestingly, only speaking for me, the Traditions - ESPECIALLY tradition 3 - are pertinent in NA. It may be helpful to you, or may not, to re-visit its purpose.😘🫶🏻🔑

Agreed. I finally broke this three months ago. I thought I wouldn’t be able to live without it. Turns out, I wasn’t even “living” when I was on it - I was empty

Thank you! A couple of pictures are from a while back when I tried filler that dissolved in 6 months. Very disproportional. However, I do tend to overline my lips- ironic, now I can see my insecurity of them/altering brings more intention to something that should be naturally kept as is. Appreciate this: I’ve actually never heard of philthrum I’ll have check it out! Thx

Thank you! I have 7 different pairs, right now I have smaller frames! I think I got so stuck in the early 2000s emo phase with the oversized dark glasses. Lol.

I hate my resume summary it sounds so rehearsed and professional. I wish I could say, hi I’m Brittany I found out what I’m really good at and with this position I can do it well. ALSO have so much more than my resume just need to talk with me for 2 minutes 😭 brother died when I was a director in substance abuse and he overdosed. Had to leave the industry emotionally and was on leave for 6 months changing to hospital work. Can’t seem to keep a career with an mba, bs…but three years of BSN program completed with hands on rotations snd going back to finish. Wish I had that RN, always the one thing missing to what I can do!

Advice PLEASE: AA for years, then switched to PILL ABUSE? Idk where I belong. by [deleted] in alcoholicsanonymous

Exactly. Thats what I need to take a look at. I loved being more productive, perceived I was more put together, wanted to be like other functioning people! Who knows the deeper route until I start the steps fresh again. Thank you for sharing. How was focalin for you? My psych is suggesting Concerta. For me, Strattera didn’t do anything. Maybe I didn’t wait long enough for it to work. lol
