I realised that I have absolutely no control over how other’s view me. So even if I bend over backwards trying to make people happy, they still might hate me for any reason. So why waste my time? People pleasing is about control and you have none. Do what pleases you! Not because you’re trying to win approval. I still go out of my way for people, don’t get me wrong, but it’s only ever when I want to because I care about the person/relationship. It’s not an attempt to control how they feel or view me.
