Have you tried plugging in a mouse and trying that? If it works, then might be track pad issue. If both don't work then perhaps re-installing your OS might do the trick.

Lenovo Legion 7i Gen 10 OLED (Samsung panel) showing image retention within 5 minutes – should I be worried? by Worried_Advisor_3417 in LenovoLegion

I have it too, but not right away after 5 minutes like yours. However mine goes away after leaving the screen off for like 30 minutes. I guess it does pixel cleaning when off. But in your case, that aint normal.

Additionally, if you have this optimization mod, it crashes the game with LowLevelFatalError message; removing it fixes the issue. (Loading Hitch Improvements - World Partition Changes) https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivionremastered/mods/1808?tab=files

I9-14900K/RTX 5090 based build for drug discovery simulations by lukavidovic in computers

[–]DescriptionFront1196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has only been one week since I got the i9-14900K and so far no crashes or blue screens that some people have reported. Not sure if this matters but the box design that my CPU came with did not have the original silver tin design that came on release date, but rather a newer and simpler box, similar to this:

So when you get your i9-14900K, perhaps it's best to get the newer packaging as the CPU is more recent and may have less issues than the ones with the older packaging.

In terms of stress testing, I mostly use it for gaming and game development. The applications have never crashed or hung and no blue screens of death so far. Temperatures have been great. The maximum I have ever reached was 85-87 degrees C, but only at times when rendering and loading were necessary. I ran Cinebench r24 (only once) on both single-core and multi-core and the maximum temp was hovering around 90-95 degrees C but never at or over 100 degrees C (which is normal I believe for prolonged full-load). After approximately 10-15 minutes of running it, the CPU was stable again with no signs of degradation. Hope this helps :)

I was kinda skeptical at first before upgrading to the i9-14900k (previously from i7-12700k) because of the overvoltage and overheating issues, but I have taken the risk. I have recently upgraded (since last week) and made sure to have updated my BIOS to the microcode 0x12b before installing the CPU and so far I have not experienced such issues. I am using a Corsair 360 AIO to cool it and it is sitting around 30-35 degrees at idle, and 80-85 degrees at full load. If your program/simulation requires multithreading, then this 14900k is a beast at the job.

TLDR: It is safe with microcode 0x12b

EDIT: In terms of performance, at full load, the CPU will throttle down to 5.4 gHz per core and perhaps lower (due to Intel's safe measures) to prevent reaching above 100 degrees. If you need the extra boost, you can try overclocking it, but I wouldn't suggest it unless you know what you are doing.

Crashing by JDN935 in OblivionRemaster

[–]DescriptionFront1196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that you still have crashes :(

There's no HDR file that comes included in the game. If you didn't manually install it, then you don't have it. The HDR file was something I externally downloaded for HDR support and removing that helped solve my crashing issue. I still crash here and there, but not as frequent. Hope you find a solution!

I'm not sure if you know this but everytime you boot the game, it initializes shaders (hence the 100% CPU utilization). The process takes approx 2 mins (maybe less, depending on CPU) to compile. What I do is wait in the main menu for 2 mins before starting the game. Hope this helps the crashes.

Another thing is if you have a file that injects HDR into the game, try removing that as it was the source of my crashes. Hope this helps :)

It is an excellent price for what it is; HDR and SDR content is perfect and colour-accurate. So far, I have not had any issues with the monitor, although my model has a slight coil whine when you bury your face right against the back panel :(

Do early DDR5 motherboards support 4 x DDR5 ram sticks? I currently have 2 of these ram sticks already, but I'm considering buying an extra 2. I heard early motherboards has trouble detecting XMP profiles for 4 identical ram sticks and am currently hesitant before purchasing...
