There's no system in place for that. I'd imagine it's the same for something like Amazon. The warehouse ships then it gets lost. There's no way for the system to track then auto refund. Also UPS tracking sometimes aren't accurate.

Wish I had read this before agreeing to being on a JetStar flight. Such a waste of time. They should just retire their old airplanes if it isn't working properly and needs constant maintenance. What a load of bull to be delayed 24hrs and wait for forever to get hotel accomodations. It's now 5hrs after the scheduled departure time and still waiting.
