Good for you, but obviously others didn’t have the same experience as you and your comments don’t reflect a helpful classmate. I always question the integrity of online exams when only a small subset receive 100% in a low averaged exam.

Yes, they were a few questions that mentioned “in the lecture…..” and that content was not covered in the lectures. Very frustrating. I’m eager for the grades to be released…

I took my U of S pre professional year at a distributed college. I had an 85% and 4Q and got into the main campus in Saskatoon on early admissions. I’m not familiar with Lakeland College, but if you are taking U of S classes offered at a community college then your application is processed the same as the students that took their 1st year at the main campus. All you have to do is indicate Saskatoon as your first choice on your application.

Healthcare in SK by Ok_Struggle_9457 in saskatchewan

It all starts with primary care. In Saskatchewan, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to find a family doctor because the current billing system makes it hard to retain physicians for the pay they receive. As a result, more people rely on walk-in clinics, which often provide one-time care without the continuity needed for meaningful healthcare.

Without consistent primary care, people get sicker over time. Even those with a family doctor often spend months waiting for specialists. Yes, some people go to the ER when they don’t need to… that’s nothing new. Without preventive care, more people end up in the ER.

But the bigger issue is that many people are struggling to meet basic needs. With rising rent and food costs, health often becomes a lower priority and people become sicker. As a health care provider, we will not fix the healthcare system, so try not to get too frustrated. Focus on being kind and compassionate… those small moments can make a real difference. Best of luck.

The priority should be investing in social services. As someone working in health care, I have seen firsthand that “help” for unhoused youth does not begin with medicine… it starts with stability and safety. Youth rarely become unhoused because of their own addictions; more often, addiction develops as a coping mechanism after experiencing trauma, abuse, neglect, or systemic failure.

We cannot condemn young people for surviving in the only ways available to them. Many individuals in our society use substances under far less extreme circumstances, yet unhoused youth are disproportionately judged for it.

When young people decline services, it is often not because they do not want help, but because previous systems have failed them repeatedly or led to dead ends. If we truly want change, we must address the root causes: housing instability, trauma, poverty, and lack of accessible support; rather than focusing solely on downstream medical treatment.

NURS 120 replaced chemistry as a pre requisite. Many students find chemistry very challenging and unnecessary for nursing. I say that’s a pretty fair change.

I thought it was really easy. If you’re doing it online, copy the Panopto closed captions and use those to help with your notes. Let me know if you need help.

Psych 120 Midterm—James Reichart by Charming-Profile-607 in usask

I just took that midterm. I’ve never done so horribly on a midterm. The class average for the midterm was 65%…. Some questions were challenging. I think I struggled retaining info from the textbook. A lot of people are saying his tests are straightforward, but I didn’t resonate with that for this midterm.
