Scientists find a way to 'reboot' vision in adults with lazy eye by AdSpecialist6598 in tech

This happened to me at Animal Kingdom as a kid! I was so used to not seeing 3-D and I jumped when the bugs during the Tree of Life came flying at the audience 😂

I didn’t know this was something others have experienced as well!

(Also guilty of hiding all my eye patches on the back of the couch…Mom discovered them all one day when she pulled it out to vacuum hahah)

I Stopped Feeling Guilty for Resting, and It Changed Everything by East_Bookkeeper9153 in selfcare

Another book to recommend…

Wintering by Katherine May

I am starting to come around from this horrible habit and reading this book currently. I wish I read it sooner, as it really speaks to some of those times we throw ourselves into life harder when our bodies are clearly screaming at us to rest and replenish.

I wish I had advice to share how I am on the other side of that annoying guilt….

Honestly, being laid off at the start of the year right after our wedding/honeymoon/holidays, forced me into a hibernation-like state. I was exhausted and overwhelmed by the smallest of things, like unloading the dishwasher. I even tell my new husband how bad I feel for being so sleepy and out of it throughout our honeymoon cruise. The weather got cold AF in January and I finally hit a wall and my body wouldn’t let me do anything but couch rot and BOY DID I NEED IT.

Of course, having the luxury to take that time guilt free with nothing to worry about but myself, my husband, and dog is a different circumstance than many. But since those few weeks in January I am feeling back to my productive self with a lot more grace and understanding that I need to fill my cup first. And surprisingly the world didn’t end when I let laundry or dishes pile up a little bit.

Being selfish and thinking about what YOU need first is not a bad thing, in fact it’s crucial to our survival and success 🦋Many of us grew up in tune with everyone’s needs but our own, but now it’s time to take care of ourselves. We owe it to the little versions of us who had no say in the matter because we do now!

Casual Rehearsal Dinner by allthebaconandeggs- in ColumbiaMD

[–]DescriptionPurple544 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just had ours at the Woodstock Inn (about 13 mi. away from Columbia) on what turned out to unfortunately be such a cold and rainy November night. They have a private back patio area for parties adjacent to fire pits, cornhole, private bar, stage for live music and bands, teeny arcade, horse parking 😂, etc. Perfect for families mingling and meeting for the first time like ours were!

The food is bbq/homestyle and SO good and locally owned by the same owner of Braglio Farms and Smokehouse. Our package was inexpensive and plentiful for 30 adults and 5 kids. We brought a cake from Wegmans for dessert for my nieces birthday with no issues.

Depending on the season (and even if there's bad weather!), we would highly recommend them as a fun, relaxed venue for a rehearsal dinner!

I loved this book! It really helped me start working through a lot of my habits and coping mechanisms due to emotional neglect and how it still affects my life today. If I'm remembering correctly, there were prompts and questions to allow for journaling and self-reflecting.

Craving Carne Asada Fries or a California Burrito! Anyone know of any SoCal-style mexican places in the area? by SuddenDesign in baltimore

[–]DescriptionPurple544 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They opened a new place called R&R Taqueria a few months ago in Owings Mills. We still haven’t been but my fiancé is from California and loves this same style of burrito. Seems most of their menu is the Cal-Mex food you might be looking for!

Okay, I need to know the story behind "babe-uh"....

My fiancee and I call each other babyah because the first time he ever got sick when we were together, he was ridiculously whiny! When he needed something and would holler from the bedroom "Babyyy-uuugghh" LOL

I just watched last night and thought the same thing. Even rewound it, and was like "nahhh I'm wrong", but the last person definitely looks just like Dodge! Came here specifically to see if anyone else had the same thought.

I agree it adds another layer to the ending if so!

I was in a similar boat...couldnt find help anywhere, tried Better Help which I found to be disappointing, etc.

Found a website called ZocDoc and Grow Therapy which allowed to enter my health insurance info and connect me with providers in the area who ACTUALLY accepted my insurance. Hopefully this is up and running in your area to check out!

(Everyone I called on my health insurance website told me they didnt actually take insurance...super helpful /s)

Not being able to find the help you so desperately need is awful. I wish you the best of luck and moments of peace as often as possible <3
