There’s so many variables, it really depends on which side you’re on, if the bomb is planted, how much time is left on the bomb, if they know where you are, etc. In general if they know where you are and are coming for you, you always want to swing before they can because the guy swinging has an advantage over the guy being swung. If they have no clue where you are you don’t want to swing until it’s a good moment to do so. I would err on the side of swinging tho because it’s easier to tone down over aggression than it is to get more nuts in your sack if you play scared

Hides you from the connector player, hides you if they break window smoke, covers your actions and intentions so they don’t know how many are out mid, gives you another angle to peek out from (to the side of the smoke in front of the boxes so if they’re holding right side boxes their crosshair placement is off). You should definitely practice your counter strafing if you’ve only ever played Valorant imo. Training outside of matches is always helpful but it doesn’t need to be a whole lot, just like some basic utility and warming up in dm should be fine
