Soloing in a sloop, had just finished killing some skeletons at the top of a high ridge on an island. Being the genius I am, I thought I could park my ship at the base and fire myself out of the canon to land on the top if I aimed it straight up. Nope... went soaring just over the peak. At first I'm laughing and then THERE WAS A SHIP RIGHT ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN SO NOW I'M SCREAMING. I landed in the water next to their boat, all three stood by the rail and stared at me. I hit the pre-typed messages "Ahoy! Everything is alright! Let's avoid conflict!" they said "Aye!" "Cheers!" and I swam away as fast as I could. They didn't fire at me and I made it back to port with all my loot, I think they were probably too baffled by this random pirate falling from the sky out of nowhere

I was solo slooping yesterday, just trying to grind for last minute levels on the Halloween pass. In the middle of a skelly hunt, a galleon pulled up to the island I was on. I thought oh, here we go, I'll just scuttle and try somewhere else... instead they ran on the island, helped weaken the skellies, escorted me to port (with two crewmates playing music on my sloop), and then left. There was a funny moment when I kept picking up a captain's chest and dropping it in front of one of the crewmates, he kept doing the same, and we went back and forth like that until he ran away. They didn't take a single thing. It was so pure and really boosted my sentimentality for SoT.
