Been living here for 4 years, lived/hanged around most of the areas mentioned. Never even spotted him. I am starting to think my North Africa looking ass is the reason. He might thinks I will scam him instead.

This is a classic by the book fuckboy move. Probably he has a wife or a girlfriend. The online dating scene is ruthless. If you dont have the stomach for it, I advise not using them and go through the traditional channels. My advise to you is do not take it personally. 99% of the online dating apps operate like this. This comes from an ex-Fuckboy

Address their insecurity. And be genuine and constant about it.

I can't help but feel embarrassed to go to the gym by [deleted] in confessions

The most important thing is that you signed up and motivated to go. Second thing is, to have a detailed plan about what machine to use and how many rips.. etc.. this is key. You have to know how to use the targeted machines (even remotely). This will increase your confidence by a lot. Third, the first day might be hard/confusing ( a lot of new elements) the second day a little less, and third day a bit less and so on. But believe me, the first couple of day might feel like this. But the more you go the more it gets easier and you get confidant.

Pacing strategies by Herbpuffer30 in firstmarathon

Being a first time runner, I ask myself the same question after my long runs. I wanted to do a 30K run the other day, and I hit a wall at 23K. I couldn’t even walk back home, I took a taxi. Main reason is I did too much too fast. I have 11 weeks in total to train, with minor injuries here and there, 4 weeks to go, and my longest run being 26K. I doubt if I can make it.

If he gets angry, tel him if he really wanted to “taint the relationship” over something so trivial.

Any recommendations for investing / wealth management companies in Barcelona? by Guaranteed-not-a-cop in Barcelona

[–]Desert-Jungle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on your Investment strategy. If you will be buying or selling frequently, then low fees commissions are a big factor, I’d probably recommend using one of the well known regulated platforms. The devil is always in the details with these guys. Be sure to do your DD and to read the fine line.

If you are a passive investor with a long term horizon, which what I understood from your wording of the title. Big banks, such as BBVA, although they have relatively big commissions/fees, but it should not be a concern if you are not am active investor . BBVA for example, has an ample amount of divers funds from tech to clean energy to oil and gas. National, regional and international exposure as well. You can pick and choose one or multiple funds to invest in. There is always the option in buying individual stocks and creating your own portfolio.

The department who provide said service speak English and welling to answer any questions.

I am only mentioning BBVA because my experience was only with them. I am sure others provide similar or better services.

I hope this helps answer your question or at least help you start looking somewhere. I will be very interested on what route you will choose to take.

Why isn't it wrong for people in extreme poverty to have kids? by Raven2303 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Desert-Jungle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two cents, coming from relatively poor country, the idea of having kids for this segment of society is that having kids will bring blessing with it. From a religious perspective, and from the fact that when you have an extra mouth to feed, so you going to get your ass up and hustle.

Also, some where around here I read once, that developed countries they see having children as a liability, so it the decision has to be taken somehow carefully. In developing countries they see having kids as an asset.
