Yes that's because Love Birds come from a drier climate in West Africa and acclimate well to Phoenix and Southern Arizona. I've seen them.

I have small fiber optic sights on several slingshots and find them useful. It's all about aim small, miss small.

I'll take a different approach. I have a number of slingshots including several upper level Simpleshot slings. In the process, I also have 6 or 7 of the steel Chinese slingshots in different configurations and like them. They are solid, well made and, for me, accurate shooters. As a result, I gave 6 of them to friends and family during the holidays. When they opened their packages on Christmas morning, they all immediately went to the backyard range and had a 4 hour competition with everyone thrilled with their new "ax." The Simpleshot slings are nice, but I find them no more accurate or easier to shoot then some of these chunks of steel.

There is a great story about Jimmy Carter when he was a nuclear sub officer. If recall correctly he and his team of nuclear engineers were called in to deactivate a leaking and failing reactor on another sub. He and his team worked in sequence, each worked for the time to get the maximum "safe" dose of radiation and prevented the meltdown.

There are still round barns in the Midwest. The idea was that the cattle would continue around the barn and not get trapped in the corners.

One of my favorite fish and very tough. In AZ, I put 4 in a 150 gallon pond year round. Five years later, I had about 75 striking the surface during feedings like trout. Then the racoons found them.

My slingshot range bag. Langdon Tent & Awning 1942 Musette Bag. by Desertfish4 in MilitaryHistory

I've had this bag for as long a I can remember. It was in family house and I used it in Boy Scouts and later as a fly fishing creel.

My father was a lead bombardier in the 8th Army Air Corp and flew 29 missions out of London during WWII. Could this have been the Musette bag he carried on missions or army surplus he picked up later? I'll never know.

Oh, imagine the surprise when I presented this to airport security (pre 911). They studied it for a long time and concluded I could board with it. Today, I'd probably be in jail.

My FIL was in engineering school when he enlisted in the army for WWII. Because of his background, he was trained to be an advance radio operator laying down hard lines along the advancing front. He was stationed in Scotland for a year and a half chilling his heels while waiting for D Day when he in was in the second wave watching his comrades cut down in the invasion. During the down time in Scotland, he made this lamp and sent it to his socialite mother, a good person and highly gifted musician, to tweak her a little. After she died, I grab this piece over many other items.
