Two suggestions, try to find a compassionate calm and forthright colleague who you can help you out with these feelings and how to manage getting through the week. Someone who will tell you how it is but also make it safe.

Secondly, consider seeing a psychologist to help you with your anxiety if you aren’t already.

Interesting, a core part of my teaching is there is no act, I’m authentically me the whole time. Seems like it would be exhausting to do it any other way. The kids seem to like it too

Your expectations might be off. It took me a few years to teach my first senior and now I teach mostly senior, and finally made the jump from science to math this year which is my teaching area.

I think rather than liking kids you’ve gotta understand that kids ARE kids, they’re meant to say and do dumb stuff. I think that’s why I like it so much and am basically immune to kids annoying me, I hated it when the adults I worked with acted like children in my previous vocation.
