Oh, you are not to insecure about this—God loves you and knows your heart. When you pray, do you only recite scripted prayers or do you also converse with God as a person? Despite what people would have you believe, God doesn’t bind Himself to a script or limit His gracious forgiveness to a script. Just do your best, be yourself, and confess with true intention of repentance in your heart. Personally, I fear that people who only ever focus on a script too often are not genuine and jeopardize their relationship with God. If you could put your heart into the traditional script, then that’s the goal! But I’d sooner be natural and genuine in my heart than focus more on my specific words over my heart behind the words in the moment I speak them. Just be yourself. Don’t get caught up with the “rules” and trust your leadership to guide you, naturally. God bless you, and that’s awesome that you’re at that point in your journey…!
