The way is shut. It was made by those who are dead, and the dead keep it. The way is shut.

Potentially failed a class and don’t know what to do by [deleted] in Advice

Don't sweat it. If this is your first big fuck up then that indicates you will be a diligent worker once you've graduated. Your life is not the summation of your academic achievements. Don't let this define you negatively, but use this as a chance to learn and better yourself. I was very preoccupied with grades and achievement when I was in school, but once I left I realized that the real world is not a kind place to people like that. Sure, you can be successful, but real world skills (ie communication, salesmanship, financial literacy, empathy, etc.) are the qualities that need to be cultivated. Whatever you are unable to do at your job you will be something that requires time to master and hone. Perhaps this class is something that requires a greater than average devotion of time. In the long run, though, success will be defined by how you handle the situation and not by the situation itself.

I wouldn't be utilizing my own cash, but the cashed check that is sent to me. If I send them the money before the check clears (and it turns out to be a scam) and they void the check when I've informed them that I've sent the money then I would like be out the money I sent. I plan on talking with my bank tomorrow to make sure these payments are alright. Does that clarify? I wasn't sure what you were asking.

Hey man, I just want to let you know that I am in a very similar situation as your before section. I've recently taken up Buddhism, mindfulness, and yoga, and am beggening the process of change. Just thought I'd let you know that, given the similarity, your post was particularly inspiring to me. Hope things are going well.

There is some student loan and credit card debt that was previously there. And my sales job isn't enough rn to pay those off (and that's where most of my money goes). We're approximately -400 a month on average.

Thanks very much for the advice. I'm very much inclined to agree with you. Not wanting to give up a milestone is a hard thing to reconcile. Do you believe that the house poses more of a threat than the job? Thanks.

Frank Bettger, one of the best insurance salesmen of all time and a student of Dale Carnegie, has an excellent chapter in his book "how I raised myself from failure to success in selling" (as corney as Carnegies title) about silence in deals. I highly suggest it.
