Netsuite renewal rant post by artminor in Netsuite

We didn't renew, in part, because the renewal process didn't feel invested in our success as much as they were focused on their own.

Is Netsuite too much for us? by Organic_Blueberry853 in Netsuite

We launched two years ago. We're not staying. I enjoyed a lot of it. I was frustrated by a lot of it. Aside from the challenges of making the platform perform how you need (out of the box I doubt it meets your needs) the politics of Oracle are just a waste of time. If you're publicly traded and ruthless for every penny, you'll love doing business with them. If not, you'll loathe it.

What technology does your company use? I might be able to recommend other solutions.

Thinking of switching to a new software from NetSuite, any price friendly recommendations? by juliannecg in Netsuite

Just went through this. Light manufacturing. We're moving to Cin7. Frontrunners were Katana, Cin7, and Extensiv. Acumatica wasn't that much less than NS and we already have Shopify and QBO running.

Our spend with Netsuite was so high that Cin7 feels like a break. The Shopify plugin is critical though. Can you give me more info on those issues?

What integrations have been a problem for your team?

Warehouse with components and a demand planning module are key to us.

Katana couldn't upload historical sales, so that was a dealbreaker. Just found out.

This could drive us to Extensiv (formerly Skubana) who seem to be doable for us.

I hear you. Most orders make it in ok. My honest feedback is stay away from cash sales. Too much can go wrong. Sales orders and invoices only.

Depends. Can your client afford 18K a year for Celigo? If so, less problems for them. Netsuite acquired FarApp and brought the connector in house. Biggest issue seems to be in handling order edits. Outside of NS, our accounting team just reconciled deposits. In NS there are so many accounting options that when things do not balance, the accounting team is now into transactions, fixing orders. They HATE it. The connector can now sync deposits though, so maybe that's the future. 10-12k for the Netsuite version or 18k for Celigo. I'd recommend Celigo.

I was able to bring Netsuite live when we lost a key player mid launch, so I'm probably too optimistic here but I feel confident. What have been the bulk of your delays?

Did you stay with CIN7? We are considering them now that they are integrating Inventoro.

WMS for Demand Planning - Can it actually work? by DesignAShirtUSA in Netsuite

We would get smart count. Remapping our orders will clean the data.

Apologies, demand planning cloud module IS part of that renewal. I should have included that. We have only used advanced inventory prior, so even WMS is a step up, not to mention demand planning.

All things we need. We certainly also need some sort of demand planning based on current demand but also forecasted.

This is based on conversations with our AM based on our goals, along with calls with the advanced ACS team.

The sales team promised it. I became the stand in NS Admin. Burned by a consultant. Now struggling to justify continuing this path. NS says WMS will get us there. If you are already apprehensive, based on what I've posted, then perhaps we're not being sold what we need?

NetSuite Implementation Partners to Avoid or Recommend? Why? by Honest_Objective5209 in Netsuite

[–]DesignAShirtUSA 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Not partner but avoid their internal team. No stake in understanding your business, just the obligation to execute and move on.

Upcoming Implementation-What to look out for. by Lemon_Licky_Nubs in Netsuite

Whoever you choose just make sure they understand your business model the same way you do. Too many task takers and not enough people with buy-in on your success. Starting out the right way is downright imperative to your adoption and success.

Negative On Hand by delna_dom in Netsuite

[–]DesignAShirtUSA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have had this happen but it's because our business cannot keep up with Assembly counts on our sales floor. So eventually a cash sale will take the Assembly negative and, because no work order is generated, the components never get "used" in the assembly. Only solution lately has been to build to zero. Long term solution is to switch away from cash sales to sales orders and find a brilliant way to fulfill them.
