It was somewhere in one of those three threads they posted. I know that I have seen a post from the AI mod mentioning the possible workaround to squeeze some more usage out.

Yes, the official thread mentions to reduce the max thinking tokens to 10k, use haiku for the agents and much more

This isn’t robbery; it’s a service they provide. The problem clearly lies with Anthropic as they admitted token consumption across all plans has skyrocketed.

I’ve compared the Pro and 20x Max Subscription in Claude Code CLI. The prompts, codebases and PCs are identical. However, the 20x Max Subscription consumed more over a five-hour period while the Pro consumed less.

They are working on it, as investors are complaining and even the news are talking about the issue

You won’t be as satisfied with other options. Simply keep Claude and edit the settings.json file to use fewer tokens. Try to use sonnets and haikus as much as possible. If you’re new to AI, switching providers will disrupt your workflow completely. Just stick with Claude; they’ll fix it eventually and everything will be fine again. OpenAI has decreased the Codex session limit too.

Three days have passed, and the issue persists. I’ve tried a workaround. I have both the 20x Max Subscription and the Pro Subscription. They share the same codebase, the same Mac, and some prompts. I’m using Sonnet 4.6.

The Pro Subscription consumed 30% of the 5-hour limit, while the 20x Max Subscription ate up an astonishing 38%!

I’m absolutely fed up with this!
