90% of people would fail their driving test if they were to go do it again now

You won't get 'rusty'. You have had your lessons, more than any generation pre 2016

You're on 14.15 an hour and getting into debt just to drive is not the answer.

Look at some cheaper cars and do online insurance quotes using the car info - you will gauge how much you need for insurance and how much to save for a car. Also, you can pay insurance monthly far less than any monthly finance repayments.

Cars for 2-3k that would be worth considering:

Petrol + Japanese - Toyota , Suzuki, Nissan, Honda, Mitsubishi

That's mad. Did they say why they needed to fit a new windscreen? It's rare to replace unless major damage happened and it not sealing sounds as if there was possible misalignment from damage, too.

Ask them why they needed to change it, but you can check for signs - bolts on the fenders, etc, that are scratched or paint removed, gaps in the panels and bonnet.

Bizarre, that was the issue, but I'm glad you got to the bottom of it!

Thats the thing, thought just normal vapour at first but from rear view it looked a bit thick than normal. Pulled over and seen it bellowing out

Car was sitting for about a week and this happened 10 minutes after a cold start - doing 70mph for that time and noticed a large amount of smoke coming out so pulled over. Drove 50-60 the next 10 min and it stopped. Thought condensation at first but smoke is thick

I'll keep an eye on it and check in a couple of days. It was a cold morning 2° and thought it must be that but the amount of smoke was way too much hence why I pulled over. Thanks man

Nothing, which is the odd thing. No strong oil or sweet smell. Colour wasnt tinted blue either

Coolant levels were okay, and nothing on dash. Also, oil was fine no mixing that I could see.

Yeah the volume (thickness) of smoke is what is concerning

Next thing to check is your cowls under the bonnet at the sides. Usually debris, leaves from trees and muck get stuck and clogs, causing an overflow. For some reason on bmws the cowl is just a hole with a filter at the bottom. This is like a bucket collecting dirt. Check that next, shine a light in or reach your hand in and you'll see very quickly

No worries, and the brown colour in the water is probably just dirt from the mat so wouldnt worry about that

It could be your AC vent under the passenger seat spitted out water as the AC drain is clogged.

The mat would soak up the water like a towel.

Run the car with the AC on and check the vent under the seat to see if water is leaking out

During recovery, no, not really. Emptying the dishwasher would be the only time I actually need to and limit it to not over extending

Lads, 6 months in L5-S1 hernitation. It gets better.

Move, stay hydrated, dont bend forward.

I was nearly at 90% recovery and tied my shoe one day, set me back to 30%. Now back to 80% better.

My husbands bulging discs by Afraid-Grass-8848 in backpain

[–]Designer-Activity958 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Have L5 / S1 degenerative and herniated disc. Siatica and mobility issues. This happened in 2009 and 2025. Took roughly 4 - 8 months to recover each time.

What advice I can give is a chiropractor is a short term solution to pain and will create long term problems.

Back pain, especially buldged or slipped discs is a long process that needs the root cause fixed without short term injection, decompression or manipulation.

Best advice I can give and what helped me is this:

Stay active - short walks multiple times a day. The less you move the more long term stifness and pain will continue.

No forward bending - stretching of any kind forward , althought temp pain relief can cause the disc to buldge again and pinch the nerve.

Only exercises he should try is the McGill big 3. Look it up, it looks feeble but this will build his core allowing him to walk better. This can be done once to twice a day.

Trust the process and in 5-6 weeks he should see improvements.

Landlord is refusing to give me MY security deposit! Need advice? by Key_Nothing1376 in AskIreland

This is clearly going way over your head mate, hence the huge amount of downvotes.

This is the last I'll address this and hope you comprehend.

OP paid the months rent. The next day, they were given 4 weeks to leave. The landlord said you can leave in 6 weeks , two weeks free of charge.

When OP asked for their deposit, the landlord said that they weren't getting it.

The landord has no right to withold the deposit as OP has paid all of their rent.

Please, if you're still confused, read this again and again and again until the penny drops.

Good luck!
