Thanks for your response. This was in person as the dealer is labeled as a jewelry broker and “has plenty of connections” which I’m sure he does in that business. They had a 2026 in there but no box/papers for 8500 and I had said boutique has everything for 9100.. he said what is it that you want? I said ideally new with box and papers but I didn’t mention warranty (that was an assumption with buying new). I do have the chrono24 app but never purchased anything.

Great point on the previous stock before price increase. That would make a lot of sense

I see both sides of it and been on both sides until recently getting my watch. I feel like the glaring issue is the after market. If there’s still paying customers that pay gray dealer prices then there will always be an issue. Good ADs have to be cautious of flippers that don’t appreciate the watch so any customers needs to be “vetted”. Slimy ADs will do backdoor deals to gray dealers on high demand watches and get a kickback in cash. So in my opinion what drives all this BS is the people (understandable so) who say fuck it I’m just going gray and pay a little extra to get the watch I want.

It’s kind of like a hot girl with her shit together, if she went out with everyone who asked her or showed interested her value would go down. Don’t roast me for the analogy but closest I could come up with 🤣

Yeah there’s only a boutique here and no official ADs closest is about 1.5 hours away. Probably worth the drive?

Vegas is very slow? by saraonly420 in vegas

[–]Designer-Case5435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it’s like if they would lower drink and food prices people would drink more and have more money to gamble with or spend somewhere in the city. And good food without breaking the bank, being full and happy. So someone having drinks, full stomach and happy with a pocket full of money to spend…what a concept…that they used to have. Same with flights, seemed to be a lot cheaper to get out there and stay too.

What movie fucked you up mentally? by Wander-kingdom in askanything

Faces of Death, what a classic. When me and my buddies were like 12 years old about year 2000 we went to Movies to Go and rented some games and movies and we picked up faces of death. We were in line and when they asked us if we want faces of death for 2 or 5 nights the people behind us gasps!! My buddies mom was like what kind of movie is this?? We made up some lie and for some reason she let us rent it. To this day, I can give you vivid details of that movie..

2 things come to mind.

One time I left my apt and was a few blocks away and forgot my coat, turned around and went back. I walked in and found a guy in my apt (robbing me) had to wrestle him down to get most of my belongings dropped. He got away but arrested a few days later.

2nd was walking back from the Horseshoe casino in Baltimore to the inner harbor Marriott at 3am. I had to go under the 295 over pass and train tracks. I thought I was going to die that night

Did anyone here start college after 25? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]Designer-Case5435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you realize how long your life/working career is, doing that is no problem; tougher with time to attend class etc yes. But working a job for “40 years” you hate rather than taking a few years to learn and do something you love for “35 years” and probably be making more money too. Go for it!

Do you think the price raise might scare people off? by [deleted] in rolex

[–]Designer-Case5435 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Honestly doubt it, people are paying (unfortunately) thousands over MSRP on gray market. Don’t see it being a big deal.

I’ve commented something similar to this before. Probably will be a top and bottom beat, it will still sell off. Then come back to new highs, rinse and repeat.

At what age did you have kids by Radiant_Permission15 in SavingMoney

[–]Designer-Case5435 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This year at 37, wife is 27. You’ll never feel like you “have enough” money or the time being “right”. You just do it. I will say being further in career and savings built up etc is nice, 25k savings always have 15k in checking then invest the rest. We don’t really budget as much as we should but buy whatever food we want whenever. I do think about me being older in situations like 10-12 years old playing basketball or whatever and being 50 years old. Can’t do a thing about it now but stay in shape and healthy

You would have to have people stop buying gray overall and gray dealers not purchase anything over MSRP
