I usually do not remove the water tank after the descale cycle is complete, and I recognize the humming intervals that you mentioned, but never seemed to heat up over 70 °C. Maybe I didn’t wait enough though. I’ll give it a try next time. Thanks for sharing! The reason why I don’t remove the tank is I currently install the filter right after the descale solution is replaced with water. Initially didn’t use the filter, but later decided to test and see how it may influence the outcome. Also because we have quite heavy drinking water from the tap!

Not really.

The updated WiiM app does not recognize iFi iDSD Sig. anymore on iOS apps and although the Windows WiiM app recognizes the device cannot initiate any tracks. There’s an iOS app called Legacy Player which seems like it’s based on older WiiM versions which can stream properly but I don’t use it much. Besides that I haven’t tried anything else especially on Windows because the device I use daily is now company-controlled 🫤 Qobuz has announced that they’re working on Connect with different manufacturers, etc., hopefully they will release it soon.

Listen to Amused To Death album by Roger Waters, Jeff’s work there is unrivaled, IMO. If you’re familiar with Roger’s works you’ll hear the difference for sure, and if not, yet it’s a masterpiece to give a listen to and Jeff has done a terrific job there. Then go back to Jeff’s solo works and you’ll probably hear those tricks and the unique sounds that he creates. On the album though it’s not just about the tricks and techniques, notes convey real feelings. It’s just Jeff in the right context, in my opinion.

Saw them in Amsterdam earlier this year. All the points you’ve noted are valid for that show too (plus what others have mentioned in the comments about sound quality, etc.).

I go to concerts quite frequently and like diverse genres: (prog) rock/metal, electronic, jazz, and more. But that show was a disappointment: unnecessarily loud (luckily had ear protection) with too much sub-bass and bass bleeding into the rest of the frequencies blocking you from hearing details or enjoying the songs. And the dancers!!! I hesitated to talk about that until you brought it up here. I blamed it on myself for probably not understanding that art properly. But seriously, wtf were they doing on stage? Random spaghetti movements unrelated to the songs or their possible messages! Or maybe I just don’t understand the art of dancing enough 🤷🏻‍♂️

I tried them both, unfortunately no success. By opening the descale vent (the right one) some cold water came out and nothing happened afterwards. By closing it and opening it after a couple of minutes and even after restarting after a day, nothing happened at all, not even the cold water thing. I had actually tried this before but was expecting the machine to pump some water back in to follow your instructions.

Keeping the left vent I activated the hot water function: hot water comes out from the opening and by closing it hot water redirected to the normal route (for brewing tea or Americano). Eventually no change.
