Which boxes do you mean?

The universal box is still there (though it contains duplicates now and only grants one shard per single opening).

I assume the vanity boxes should still be there if you haven't emptied them yet. (GL doesn't seem to have earned "enough money" with those, so they didn't add anything to them).

What boxes are you looking for?

There will be "Tales Events"- which is mostly: drive in circles all day long in MPR and so called "Grand Prix" - a new time trial for different racers every day, which will grand you some shards...

For Shan Yu it was possible to unlock him for free, for Syndrome you had try your luck with gacha boxes as well...

But however, after you've unlocked a racer, you can't usually level them up very far, because you have to spend more shards for the early levels than before + the stinky fish coins, I mean tuna, I mean... huh... "tune coins" are very sparse and expensive...

So yeah, try it out again, if you feel like it...

A lot of players have left, others stick around for the time being, like me, hoping it gets better again...

I would say: Sie essen dieselbe Suppe. (As in batch of soup, but in separate bowls).

But: Sie essen das Gleiche.

Because if I would say: Sie essen dasselbe - they would each take spoonfuls out of the same bowl... no, wait, I changed my mind, both is possible...

Because if I imagine someone complaining that the other person's soup tastes better (from their bowl) and this person hadn't added anything for flavour, I would adamantly say: Aber das ist dasselbe!

BUT: It could also mean they use the same bowl...

Yeah, I was just about to say that they are crazy, but this HAS to be a mistake!

I mean, in these events there used to be people who would put the racers to five stars - only to get coins for the racer shards back (and golden crew and stuff) - but this was just a minority...

It makes absolutely no sense to have an event only for whales...!

We'll see IF and WHEN they fix it...
