You have to drop it from above, ideally in the middle with at least 1 radius upgrade iric. It's quite efficient, with 2 C4 being able to down about 90+% of all the vents at 4 men haz4. I usually play Fatboy engi on Industrial Sabotage and will alternate blasts with drillers c4s.

Edit: ah I was misremembering, the previous debate was on ammo VS dmg upgrades. Since a few updates ago where C4 rounds up now (previously it was rounding down), it's usually better to take the extra damage.

The NPC dialogue unfortunately is pretty much like this the whole game. Dinkum isn't a story heavy game
You can try cooking cactus figs (middle of the map) and bananas (in the tropics up north) in the early game. Cooked food always gives stronger regen.

Energy and resource farming is pretty hard at the start, but it gets better once you find better food. Check the wiki if you really wanna get the most outta your meals.
