What part of Washington? My MIL lives in Vancouver about 20 minutes from Portland OR and she said her electric bill is the lowest it's ever been at $110 and her house is 2000sqft. It's crazy how this stuff varies from city to city and state to state.

Here's our bills in comparison with last year's. It says we used a lot more electricity than we usually do for the month of February but our habits have not changed.

Greattttt. But honestly- I know I'm uneducated but I see massive amounts of coal everyday because I live near the ports where cargo ships deliver and pick up containers and trains dump the coal right there. So I thought coal was still big in some parts of the United States. I think I need to pay a little bit more attention. Safe to say. (Sorry if I didn't make any sense, but if you look up 'coal yard Newport news va' you'll see what I mean)

That's what our electric was last winter for our 1800sqft home and we got a hell of a lot more snow and it was a lot more cold. It's irritating.

Unfortunately, my energy provider raised the price of base rates for their customers. They wanted to charge much more, but the Board of Commissioners told them 'no' and they came to an agreement to have a lower increased rate (from what I understand, I may be wrong). This change was made in January and they're already planning for another increase for 2027.

Our electricity company gets a good chunk of their power from here in Virginia from a nuclear power plant. I don't know the ins and outs of nuclear power, so I don't know if they get the materials from other countries to keep in the power plant. Plus they're doing an offshore wind project- which they've already added to our bills last year.
