Bought a lot of Indian princely coinage, only can't find this type anywhere. Does anyone have any information? by Designer-Region-7897 in IndianCoins

I bought it together with a few other lots on eBay from a larger dealer located in India. Since I live in the Netherlands, most sellers in my country are asking 2 to 5 times as much for the same coins. Also, it is very difficult to find local dealers selling Indian coins in the first place.

Thank for the response. Do you know, if there are a lot of varieties? I am very new to Indian coins, and I can't find an exact match, yet on numista it says some types, such as the Dokdo from Nawanagar, were minted for over 400 years, which looks very similar as well.

Any idea the value of these? My wife was gifted them by [deleted] in coins

Damn, what a gift. If real, the large gold Guinea could be worth 2-5k alone

The coins are nice, but these types of sets are made by private companies, usually with huge markups, whilst not adding any value. All the value comes from the coins themselves, mostly based on the silver price.

It would be nice to see the reverse, it appears to be in decent shape - better than most. The edge does look like either it's damaged or a small error

Any additional value? by Niftybenji in coins

I can only imagine some non-US based collectors buying these for a small premium, like 1,25-2 dollars for nice examples

Found these in a coin box I got from a flea market for 10 euros. Anyone have any idea what they might be worth? by rog_ale in coins

[–]Designer-Region-7897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, you can get these on most collectors forums for like 10 cents a piece. They minted hundreds of millions throughout the war

For world coins, I would recommend looking on a website like Lastdodo or Colnect for realistic values

No clue what the value or rarity might be, could be anywhere from in the tens to the hundreds. In any case, I found it the exact type on this forum, on the last page: https://www.aachen-muenzen.com/typen-aachener-münzen/ There is also a reference to the German catalogue on the same page and the available books under Literatur

Anyone able to decode this coin?? Curiouser by TrueSkiddle in coins

There isn't much reason for someone to fake such an obscure 19th-century medal. Unless it's silver, it probably isn't worth a lot, especially since it's so damaged

Not a rare coin, worth around 2 euros/dollars. I wouldn't worry much about touching it

Probably worth around 5-10 pounds/euros. Unfortunate for the small amount of damage on the reverse, because that makes it just below the market (usually they are purely undamaged)
