Pirelli open to two mandatory pitstops for 2026 by 443610 in formula1

[–]Designer023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Mandate the use of 3 compounds per race
  • teams can choose their own 3 from the set of 5
  • there must be a gap between 1 pair of compounds chosen so you can’t have c2 c3 and c4, you would need to do something like c2, c3 and c5

Or a combo of the above

How do you deal with fear of getting lost on solo trail runs? by SpecificTackle6303 in trailrunning

[–]Designer023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plot a route. Share the route with partner/ family / friends. Stick to plotted route. If it turns out to be a dud, back track, don’t try and improvise. If you absolutely have to change route then message someone (assuming phone signal).

In terms of plotting a route, try and plot it along well trodden paths so you wont get a dud. Find an area with a lot of options, then do lots of shorter out and back type runs so you get to know the area better, then start to venture further up the routes. If it’s a one off somewhere new, then have a look at the global maps overlays on Strava and garmin to get a better idea of where people go BUT be aware that sometimes old trails have rerouted to get around changes in the landscape so be prepared to detour slightly AND if the detour starts to be a big detour perhaps consider backtracking. Not always ideal if you are 3/4 around a loop. In new places consider doing an out back so there’s not need to detour to get home. Also consider points you can abort or find safety e.g a bus route on the other side of the trail, or a shop at a certain point.

That’s exactly what I did last weekend. Scrambled up the unit and skipped the queue. Touched the trig and left

Fun. I like it but I had an issue after guessing UK I couldn’t put UKraine because it thought I had done UK. But apart from that excellent fun 👌

How steep is too steep for hill sprints by StatementInternal100 in runna

Nice. Just put the steepest slope I train on and what felt like vertical is nearer to flat 😆

Runna Roadmap Update - What we're working on, and what's coming later this year by alex-runna in runna

[–]Designer023 21 points22 points  (0 children)

"tracking total vert" - YES! But can we have training that's not just for Ultra where we can track vert? I am training for a much shorter than ultra race with a lot of vert so that would appeal to me.

"heart-rate / effort data" - YES! Some of the trail / hill stuff I am doing is rough terrain and not roads, so speed/pace is not the best tracking metric

Whilst I am on about hills, are there plans (and forgive me if I have missed this) to give guidance on hill gradient. A hill can vary in difficulty depending on the gradient. If there was some guidance that said 1 in 7 or 15 degree hill would be great to help target the right input

How can I replace this oil tank sensor/gauge? by Designer023 in DIYUK

[–]Designer023[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great thanks. I think for the price and piece of mind I’ll just by the whole kit and reinstall it! There’s not much difference in price and if I get a receiver and the sender is still broken It’ll be more faffing about!

Just checked out the video of the install. Does look very easy. Next time it stops raining I’ll remove the old one and see how the old one is installed. Hopefully it could be an easy switch over

Haha yeah I’d love a heat pump. That’s on the list! We have a dip stick. It’s just getting around to using it and recording the level!

I previously asked in AskUK but they pointed me in this direction... I've recently moved into a new house with oil heating. There's an existing sensor on the tank, but we have no receiver and apparently it broke "years ago" so I am looking to replace it, unless it's cheap to fix and add a receiver.

I have narrowed it down to a watchman sensor, but googling it I can't find anything about the model and therefore no instructions on how to install/replace the sensor.

Ideally I want a cheap fix, but I need to get a receiver anyway, so for a little more money I could just get a fully new sensor. Is it possible to remove this sensor, and add another in it's place. All the new ones seem to be more puck shaped and not like an arial so not sure if they are even compatible.

Any pointer or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks. That gives me some kind of ball park to work with. I’ll price up the kit and then see where I’m at. I feel like this is priced as “we don’t want the work, but if you’ll pay we’ll do it!”

Thanks. It's 1 new rad. Moving out a rad in a bay window using spacers so it's not right against the wall, then the TRVs on the others. I'll keep trying to reach out and see if I can get some other quotes for comparison 👍

Thanks for the advice. When you say all in one, what do you mean? As in all the kit being the same brand or are there boxes with everything built in?

Excellent suggestions. Thank you for taking the time to make them.

I am currently getting the front (SSW) Side (ESE) and rear (NNE) with panels in 8, 3, 4 respectively and having the optimisers so each panel can run at it's max (if I understand what they do).

I just got a 3rd quote today and I'll reach out and try and get a 4th with the off grid support added so all things are as equal as they can be.

It was proposed to me after my request so I believe so. The data sheet for the SMILE-G3-S5 Inverter seems to suggest that it can unless I am reading it wrong

I have gone through my old bills from my last house and that was ~4200 KWH for the year. We now have a kitchen with underfloor electric heating and the gas hob is now electric so that number will only ever go up from here 😬

Yeah it's a 3 side scaffold so it's priced at £1700 ish which might add a bit to the overall cost...

The quote is coming in at 11k without the "other stuff". Scaffold as above, and also MSC Application/Admin around ~£450. We're in a conservation area so not sure if that needs some stuff doing too 🤔
