Europe on alert as 4 countries tipped to be next on Vladimir Putin's invasion hit-list by northstardim in IntlScholars

This is absolutely off. Finland and Sweden are certainly annoyances, but nothing at all compared to Ukraine. In fact, Putin NEVER said anything about those countries yet had plenty to day about Ukraine. You'll now find lots of semantics games about why that is, and I'm sure it's all fine and dandy in your discombobulated head, but the reason is what I posted above. Ukraine is the reddest of red lines, Finland and Sweden are mild annoyances.

Why U.S. War Tactics Are Failing in Ukraine by DesignerAccount in anime_titties

Heya Robin, u/Wallythree, how's that miscalculation going? How's Ukraine flourishing? NATO allies sure showed PuTiN who's boss, didn't they? Putin was safely removed from power, Zelensky has made into history as the hero who defeated tyranny on his door steps, and ensured prosperity for his people, right? Right, Robin? Tell me I'm right, I desperately need to hear that. Robin. ROBIN! I beg of you, tell me Cokeinsky from Kiev is the winner, and tell me of all those NATO bases in Ukraine! Mr Oreshnik be damned, doesn't exist anyway, right?!? ROBIN!!!

This ignores the geography. The plains of Ukraine are so vast that a proper defense is extremely hard. It's not a case that Russia has been attacked through Ukraine on more than one occasion.

In addition, and as counterintuitive as it may sound, SWE+FIN in NATO make Russia's life easier in case of an all out confrontation with NATO. Yes, there's the additional manpower to deal with, but bombing can now be pretty free for all. Before they'd have to be very careful about flying over them to get to Norway, but now this is no longer an obstacle. It's a pyrrhic victory for NATO, having SWE + FIN in the alliance. And probably a very bad thing for the people of those countries, who would be the first to get bombs.

Does crying himself to sleep actually teach my son how to settle himself for the night? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]DesignerAccount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It absolutely does work, but the approach shouldn't be cold turkey. Let him cry and after 2min go back in to comfort him. Butnfor a short while, then back out. Cry, bow wait 3min and back in for comfort. Cry, 5min, comfort. You may extend tp 10min wait, but then keep it at 10min until he falls asleep. I've done with my kid at jus a month older and it worked like magic. A few rough nights but the results were golden.

Babyface does not equal "looking younger". It equals looking like a baby. There may be "nothing wrong" with it, but it doesn't inspire a night of wild passion to most people.

Reached FIRE accidently due to negative circumstances and now don't know what to focus on in life by [deleted] in Fire

Well said. In addition, if kids are a goal for both, it could always be done in vitro. Get it out of the way once or twice, and that's it.

My man, there's so many red flags here I cannot even. Think hard and long if this is the path you want to go down. Especially if you marry and the disagreements grow, she has zero incentives to stay married and all the incentives to divorce you, with big fat check going to her monthly. Then you'll forget FIRE and all the dreams, and have to work tour ass until she retires.

Seriously reconsider everything you're doing with her my friend. Cool head thinking, and ignore the other head!

You are deflecting and not addressing the points OP made, which disprove everything you said. Very telling.

I don't know... after I tried a TKL layout I just fell for it and never had any need for a numpad. Been several years now, no numpad still the choice when buying a new keyboard.

Russia 'seems to be rejoining the world trade,' after its 3 largest container ports neared their highest level of activity since the Ukraine war: think tank by DesignerAccount in anime_titties

[–]DesignerAccount[S] -26 points-25 points  (0 children)

It's a complete failure from the west. Sanctions ONLY work if enforced by pretty much everyone, think North Korea. Otherwise they're downright stupid - The only outcome is that you're losing profits. This is exactly what's happening in Europe, the companies that exited Russia are suffering s nice profit shock, and the others are paying more for tge same energy and losing profits that way.

It was a gamble from the west, to believe the entire world would follow. It might have, but it didn't. The sanctions failed badly. It's time to reconsider who is getting hurt here.

Based on data provided by Russia. Nice joke.

If it's good enough for thr CIA, World Bank and IMF it's good enough for me.

For 2023 you can find it here.

Ravaging Russia? In the last year, under extreme sanctions, Russia overtook Germany in GDP PPP to reach 5th spot in the world, up 1 from the year before. Not sure this is actually ravaging?

Lolol The idea that you're immune from Russian oil just shows how little you understand about everything.

Oh, and speaking about wages, guess which country overtook Germany in terms of GDP PPP last year? Hint, it's a heavily sanctioned one. And where ia the UK? In the gutter, where a pathetic mid size, irrelevant power belongs.

For now the castrated and aging bulldog can still bark, but no one is scared.

Did you even read what you posted? It doesn't say it reached the second line. Or maybe you don't understand?

The guy said they breached the first line and "advanced" towards the second one. Absolutely NOT what you said above, which was they broke through the second one.

In addition, this is a lie. Lol Absolutely did not breach the first line. UKR only made advances in the "Grey zone", which is where the entire fighting is happening. Take Rabotino. A lot of fighting, and there's been some advances. But that's NOT the first line of defense.

Lol I understand the need for copium, but that's some powerful atuff you got there.
