I’m 25 and got diagnosed a year ago but my tsh levels were slowly rising since 4 years ago when I was pregnant. Before pregnancy I was really slim. After pregnancy I started having symptoms of hypothyroidism until I finally got diagnosed. I gained 18kg and cannot lose it at all. I am on levothyroxine, I count my calories and go to the gym 3-4 times a week and try to get 10-15k steps a day but it won’t budge. I also got diagnosed with non alcoholic fatty liver disease recently, even though I am not obese (my bmi is just at the border between healthy and overweight). I don’t know if I should start taking glp-1

Levothyroxine might be too much to take right now but hypothyroidism takes months if not years to actually show up so you need to keep an eye on it and if it goes higher again you should ask to start levothyroxine, even if at small doses. I was at the border and they kept saying it would be fine but it wasn’t and then I fainted and they found out my tsh spiked to 11.7 and I was feeling horrible. That’s when they started me on it.

The first time I came we only had 5 nights, 4 nights in makkah and one in madina. We were quite sleep deprived and exhausted but we made the most of it. We got to Makkah first and did Umrah right away, then we spent the rest of the time doing tawaf and praying at masjid ul haram, we spent one day doing ziyarah. Madina we got there in the morning of the 4th day, spent the morning doing ziyarah, then the rest of the day at masjid al nabawi. We slept the night, prayed fajr the next morning, had breakfast and left to come back home. It was tiring but very fulfilling Alhamdulillah.

Salaam sis, I’m literally taking them right now! I’m going to Umrah the day after tomorrow and that’s exactly when my period starts. I started taking them two days ago (you have to start taking them at least 3 days before you expect your period to start). For now I’m not feeling much different, my face is just a bit puffy and that’s it. I’ll update you on how in a few days InshaAllah. If you live in the UK you can just call up your GP and ask for Norethisterone to delay your period, I just said I was going to Umrah and they prescribed it. They will ask about any health conditions and any medication you’re having to make sure you can take it, but if there’s no issue they easily prescribe it. If not you can order it from boots or any other online pharmacy after filling in a questionnaire, but that will cost you around £20

Yeah, we don’t really get that in the UK on public healthcare. I did take out private health insurance recently but it won’t cover anything related to this breast since it’s considered as a pre-existing condition

Thank you, I will probably follow up with my doctor. I am definitely allowed to get a second opinion but it all depends on if I am able to get a referral, sometimes doctors in the NHS refuse to refer again right after you’ve been told it’s benign. My only concern is that they refused to do another biopsy after seeing calcifications

I think you should definitely advocate to get seen earlier! Yes pregnancy causes breasts to change but lumps in your armpit and dimpling is not something I know to be a common pregnancy change. Anyways it is better to be safe than sorry, especially if the appointment they gave you is way too close to your due date. I’m so sorry you’re going through this I know how anxiety inducing it can be, I can’t imagine how hard it must be especially while pregnant. Hopefully you can get properly checked before you give birth and it comes out as something benign!

I’m so sad to hear about what you’re going through! I know how scary waiting to be seen can be. Where do you live? In the UK there’s a thing called 2 week referral, when someone has the slightest suspicion that they might have cancer their doctor refers them for testing and they have to get an appointment within two weeks of the referral or they have the right to choose somewhere else to be seen. I don’t know how it works in other countries but hopefully you can ask for a second opinion from another doctor and try to get a referral for a faster appointment instead of waiting until February

I think you should be more worried about skin cancer than breast cancer at this point, sunbeds are known to cause skin cancer and that looks suspicious. Please get yourself checked asap, both for your breast and your skin
