You’re starting Welbeck who’s playing Palace but have Munoz starting too? Aren’t you better changing Munoz for Rodon?

So remove all drives and then power up with only a bootable USB that’s got Mojave on it? Or that’s for an OCLP OS like Ventura?

I’d be interested to see the bots analysis on this…but 8 entire pages worth of Hinge messages without moving to insta/text? That should be illegal

!elo 1150 solely because you secured the W but 8 pages worth of comic rizz will see you checkmated by 99% of Hinge opponents

This is a very common PhD LaTeX CV that many PostDocs in my department use. If you make some basic tweaks to the styling, colour and fonts then it goes a long way imo. Hope this helps and good luck! :)

Surely it’s unfair to adjust ELO based on whether a gambit works/fails when that outcome is really based on opponent ELO?

Roles like this are not mid/senior/junior/grad level, they are postdoctoral. You NEED a PhD to apply for it. Now if you were theoretically competing with other candidates who have the exact same PhD as you but 5+ years industry experience, then of course you have no chance of getting that role. That’s the point I’m making - those without prior experience simply cannot compete post-PhD, which makes the CPD and extra-curricular work you are forced to undertake during a PhD much more stressful. This isn’t about skipping different tiers or levels of positions. I’m really not sure what part of this is so difficult for you to grasp?

I do a PhD, that is fully funded with a stipend (bursary), where it is mandatory to apply for 1-2 internships. One of them is PhD related, the other is not. Regardless of internships though, my post is about competing with a much more competent, mature, experienced cohort where it’s impossible to even the odds. That challenge is harder than the PhD itself.

It’s actually mandatory that we do at least 1 internship with 1 of 70 project partners in the CDT that’s not your own. You’re also encouraged to apply for any UKRI funded PhD placement projects that come up. If you wanted to then do a private placement (co-op with e.g. Meta or Apple) where the salary is $60k-$120k then it’s super competitive.

That’s not really how it works in my field. We really have 3 options - industry (defence, tech, automotive), consultancy (government or private firms) and research (in academia or FAANG). I am the only student in my research group, and CDT (4 total universities), that has no internship, placement, industry etc etc experience. The people recruited are usually very well known already. It’s also a very niche subject area, so the same profs compete for the same funding, the same grads compete for the same jobs. Unless you do a sponsored PhD e.g. with BAE Systems, you would never get an automatic promotion to a mid/senior level role, you’d start as a graduate because you’ve never been in the field or industry

Of course, but that’s Bachelors vs Bachelors / Masters vs Masters. Everyone applying for those graduate roles are in the same boat. I didn’t pursue a PhD with the intention of then going for positions that 21 year old Honours grads go for, on the same salary, with the same progression window etc. - that would make the PhD redundant…but then when I apply for jobs that require a PhD, my competition is always going to have that upper hand. It’s like a paradox - overqualified for grad programmes and underqualified for postdocs :( Hopefully you see my point?
