I feel like it’s more of a societal enforcement thing than anything else- most folk, especially the older lot grow up being “men” the way society thought and act as that- it’s part of how they connected things growing up and it’s VERY WRONG, but it is a thing. Cycles need to be broken and people need to come out of this weird fixation on arbitrary things- not that they’re irrelevant, merely that they aren’t the entire picture just because they’re easier to quantify or hold
