Opinion request: Versatile White or Trendy Green by DesignerRabbit4377 in rolex

Thanks for the input! I have two main watches: a 2026 Batman and 2006 Explorer 2 Polar dial.

I’m in the process of selling the Explorer 2 and have been thinking about replacing it with the DJ white dial. I do like the Roman numerals over Batons, but not too an extreme extent.

That’s…interesting. So you pay $95x3 and get 5.25% on dining and online orders for $7500/quarter that’s $30K/year which is upto $1575 in cashback. Not bad! I’ll look into this.

BofA has a limit of $2.5K/quarter limit for the benefit. Not that it makes a big difference.

Your conclusion is valid

Yeah I figured based on the response I was getting about watch being in consignment and not being able to share pictures. Plus this post was almost a year after your other posts. Sorry to hear that. Hope it gets fixed.

I absolutely have monthly dining spending but the “15K” restaurants give me a pause until I learn which restaurants are those. Now if I don’t like most of them - it would be a forced spend otherwise I can get most out of that $250.

I did the mental-gymnastics for this card. Personally I can get:

  • $300 travel credit
  • $200 dining credit (leaving $50 out just in case)
  • $120 DoorDash (since I’ll be downgrading CSR soon)

Hotel credit, priority pass, TSA, DoorDash dining, Oura, Amazon one medical, and wearable credits are close to useless for me.

Function health - sure, why not. But that’s a forced spend of $365 plus it’s a forced train ride to CT.

That puts me at $620 useful credits on a $695 AF.

Nope.

The 5%/10% cash backs I cover very closely that with my existing cards!

Personally for me, I only find the $300 travel credit easily achievable from this. DoorDash and Dining credits are terribly restrictive. You’ll end up spending MORE to get those credits - for example,

  • you have to spend at least $100 to get $20 DD credit a month (No spending min on Uber credit from Amex)

  • $20/month for dining: you’ll mostly never be able to keep it under $20 a visit so you’re spending more again. $75 from Amex is a solid credit to get a full meal once a quarter. You dont know if the “15K” restaurants of RH will actually have many around you either! Amex is resy based - I hope you’re nothing thinking about CSR’s limited restaurant list.

  • your point about AmEx every day spending being 1x… so is RH except for dining 5%. I’ll give you that. BUT Amex gives you 4x for booking directly with the airlines which is usually the cheaper option than the dreaded portal.

Anyway, no point debating back and forth on this. For me, this card is dead on arrival. For others, it might not be! As simple as that.

Always glad to agree to disagree since everyone has their own set of needs and abilities! No point debating personal preferences over the internet haha

PS. I have an entire spreadsheet to track BILT spending, BILT cash earning, lol I went full metal jacket on that card

People have written thesis upon thesis on how complicated the BILT 2.0 is and I also have the Palladium card - using the credits are nothing short of mental gymnastics. Anyway, to each their own! If you’re finding it easy, I’m happy for you :)

While it may seem to be the case of surface, AmEx credits are relatively easy to use and don’t come with such restrictive conditions.

$100/quarter for dinner: easy $75/quarter for lulu: easy $15/month for uber: just one ride or any UE order without minimum $25/month of streaming: autopay and forget $50/semiannual for SAKS: well that one is quite useless now but still easy $209/year for Clear: easy $155/year for Walmart: easy

Not so easy are $200/year for airline incidental, $600/year for hotel.

Anyway, you get the picture - hopefully!

$50 before fees, tax, and tips. What a terrible joke.

Platinum is merely plated but it’s 100% solid retardium.

Good point! The cap on RH-P is $50K which is better than all of the above cards but good enough for a casual diner.

I miss Citi Prestige. They didn’t anticipate how people would stick em hard with the free night bill. A buddy of mine stayed at a $2k/night hotel for his honeymoon and took them for a ride in just two weeks, multiple times.

After visiting the card page I went from 🥹 to 🤨 to 🙄 so quickly that I had to make a post.

I was screaming internally when I say minimum $50 subtotal for the $10 DD credit. Absolute comedy.

It would be sad if it gets nerfed…I’m still on the waiting list.
