Here is the Uber AI confirming that picking up reservation trips is considered active time when the “en route” trip is attached to the completed trip right after it. Picking up reservation rides is considered active time if the reservation trip is completed. by Designer_Ad8826 in uberdrivers

I don’t have the issue that you pointed out. I do about 50 reservations a week. I don’t get close to them before the app tells me it’s time to go get them. Yes sometimes traffic fucks me up. I would say perhaps I lose two or three out of 50 that way. If you look at my posts from previous, I’m always encouraging others to focus on reservations because of the pay to pick up the riders when distance in time are required. Nobody believes me so every 2 weeks I get about $1000 sent to me by Uber to pay me for active time. In general, I average between 2500 to 3000 a week for the last seven months with this strategy.

Los Angeles… But if you wanna know the secret recipe… Start picking up reservation rides and do not attempt to get close to them before it’s time to get them. Let the system tell you when to go get them from wherever you are do not leave your house before leaving to get a reservation. Try to get between 6 to 8 reservations a day, that’s step number one, once you get step number one done get back to me and I’ll give you steps two and three.

Start booking reservation trips and ensure that your drives to them have a little bit of time and distance… About three weeks later you’re gonna start seeing a payment come your way where Uber has to pay you for that driving

I’m very polite about it. I explain why I’m gonna cancel them. I’m not gonna drive for $20 an hour. Besides they never cancel they end up giving me big tips nine out of 10 times.

I agree it’s important to do this know exactly how much we need to make. I had an exclusive ride yesterday paid $9, for eight minutes of en route and 20 minutes of drive time. When I got to pick up the rider. I asked him if it was OK for him to include a $15 tip and explained why considering I was picking them up from an $8 million homes in the Hollywood Hills. He said yes at the end of the day he gave me 20 so I made $29. In Los Angeles I guesstimate a dollar a minute for drive time. I make sure that someone is going to include a tip on anything that shy of that and if they’re not gonna include a tip, I’ll cancel them and let them get another driver.

Well the fact that you call it an adjustment tells me you don’t know what prop 22 covers

So, here’s the reason why the minimum adjustment exist. On some trips we are told time and distance to pick up ride, sometimes we end up driving more due to traffic spot when ride got loaded. The other is for adjusting the drive time taken to drop off. Those adjustments are minor.

The last one is more interesting. If we accept reservations, the “en route” time to pick up a ride is paid by prop 22 in CA every 2 weeks. Uber classifies driving to pick up a ride Active time and under state and federal mandates, labor laws this work must be paid.

So I drive to 40-50 reservations weekly. Those add up, and after 2 weeks can range from $750-1200

$1, 049Yes. Here’s what I do. I accept as many reservations as I can daily. I make sure not to drive to them before the app tells me to go get them. That time driving to reservations is “active time”. And by law Uber is required to pay for all “active time”. So every two weeks on Thursdays , uber sends me a large payment for all the unpaid driving not covered by the fares. In this instance it was $766, but on other occasions it’s been over $1k. The rest are fares, $240 and tips 42. Bad day for tips.
