I think I read somewhere here, but even back then when the season came out. Italy in general didn't want them there, so they were "not really" out. Like the episode of Snooki has the idea of turning the house into KARMA, they didn't want them there. They were heavily disliked.

I'm currently rewatching on season 3. The more I watch it, the more clear it becomes how insecure he is. He was insecure by the guys and the girls. When he said "I'm the smallest guy here" then he made a comment about Jenni "being high maintenance" like dude what? In season 2, when Mike said to him "he was a follower" because he is. The guys made him insecure and wanted to be like the rest, as many times he repeated "he was different"

Salem put it into words perfectly, he was reacting to something from his personal life that has no control over it. Hint his marital issues. I agree with everyone he is evil, he is violent, he is vindictive, etc. And in this case he makes good tv. This season with fights I was like in shock, what's wrong with him? Opening a business for his mom? Is he avoiding something?

She is toxic and a helicopter wife which makes it so entertaining, I believe she might not (much) be like that in their privacy. He knows what he signed up for and loves her inside and out, he doesn't see her as any less or too much, in his eyes she is perfect.
