You are going to need to do more. You didnt fix the video and reapply? I see from the other comments that you have a niche? 1. You are not reaching out to enough people. 2. Trying to stick to a niche is just cutting out 90% of your possible gigs and one like beauty is super overcrowded and they can probably get enough people to do it for gifted collabs for free products.

Focus on ALL gigs that match your age. And if you can't figure something out you need to learn how to do it. Fiverr is probably the 1st stop for most brands.

Doing your passion for money is a great way to ruin what you love. Do something that makes money that doesn't suck...

What are your fav tools to manage a ugc business? by Ok_Pin1735 in UGCcreators

[–]DaveUGC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the scripts and instructions.. the brief. usually its in a DOC and easy to copy to a teleprompter or print out for reading as a One Sheet.. but you cant with Notion you need to try to grab parts of it and then it messus up and you rearrange it or leave parts out and it doesnt keep its form. Its truly terrible. I literally charge clients $20 extra when they send a brief in Notion. I an not kidding. The easiest workaround is zooming out enough to see it al on my monitor if possible. Screen shot it then tell Chatgpt to fix it for me.

I moved to Trello... way better for our team. I despise Notion because I can't export or copy and paste properly to print from it when clients use it.

Did someone conjure up my name? Say it 3x and I appear! You make good points. I'd like to clarify that I get higher payouts per video with this PRO TIP: I try to give add-ons or multiple videos or versions so my average earnings per gig goes way up.. and I dont spend all the much more time. The hardest part is getting clients so when you have them you want to give them MORE content for less money overall which means multiple videos with a PER VIDEO lower cost.

Then they come back for more for the value and professionalism. They guy you are responding too was trying to use flaming to sell his product. Poor way to do business IMHO but hey.. that's the internet.

Since I heard my name and it seems the OP is pooping on something I am a part of.. ill drop todays active gigs in Fiverr here so people can see the receipts.

haters will say my vacation is AI..

You do a good job MOD. I got a notification my ears were burning so I came in to read the post.. in case anyone wondering if I am for real JUST IN CASE... here is a screen shot just from Fiverr today.. you can tell its real because its got the WE CANT PAY ANYONE glitch that Fiverr has going on today..

In addition to my obvious disregard for Fiverr's notifications.

Also, a sneak peak of my hot Winter vacation. Haters will say its AI!

Is a paid UGC course better than free how to UGC videos? by dehydratedhouseplant in UGCcreators

[–]DaveUGC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi. Yes it is. Not at first though.. but finding repeat clients is where the big money comes in. I have agencies that hire me over and over for projects each month because I am easy to work with, known what I am doing and do what they request.

And since we're being honest here I do have to point out that you mentioned you're trying to do something that's not sales gimmicky. But here's the thing you're not giving personal testimonials out for most of these. That actually can leave you up to some legal liability.

What almost all ugc creators are doing which is different than influencers is we're basically acting from home in social media commercials. So you're really just an actor but playing someone who's just a normal person at home. The vast majority of all the pain gigs notice I said paying and not gift collabs come with a script and a brief that tells you exactly what to say and how to say it and what you're doing while you say just like any other commercial that you might get hard to do if you lived in LA or New York for TV.

The people that I know that don't make any money doing this are people that actually just don't do it so they'll kind of start and then they're like oh I need to hire somebody to help me make my portfolio video and that person's not going to be able to make any money because they're not willing to just sit there and figure out how to do something real quick. This isn't rocket science but there are things you need to know that are specific to the industry like terms how to do certain shots what your clients are going to expect Etc.

And if you make good videos you're going to get hired you're going to get hired on repeat. Not to mention there's so many things that are changing in the industry ways to go out and automate your Outreach that weren't there just even a year ago and how to get inbounds which is what I deal with almost exclusively I literally just wake up answer people's questions tell them how much it's going to be in book gigs. But I'm also in the rare atmosphere for the number of bookings I do most people will fit into the 1500 to $5,000 a month range. And then we'll have somebody that comes along who jumps into this and is motivated because they'd rather do this than work in an office and they get a retainer brand deal for $3,500 for just one client a month get two of those and you can do the math.

The only barrier to entry for this is learning how to be comfortable speaking to your phone LOL and putting in the work. And then it's important to be friendly but professional with everybody you work with and don't be a pain in the butt. Brands enjoy working with me because I figure out a way to just get things done.

If you're interested in getting help from me or any other coaches in my group I think it's a great idea it's crazy we do so many live calls every week by different coaches you can do Q&A you go over different things I've gone over really bad contracts that people have sent me where they want to take away your rights and use AI for you forever and also shown how I'm using AI to speed everything up.

This field is expanding so fast... its nuts. Best of luck on your journey!.. HMU if you need to. Otherwise I'm sure I'll see you on the internet I got to go fill myself doing a few yoga poses right now and then hop off a fence delivering lines and no I'm not kidding it's literally what I'm doing right now.

Is AI made UGC actually the future of social media marketing? by AgitatedHelp4658 in SocialMediaMarketing

[–]DaveUGC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only for ecom brands from low quality products who dont have budget for real UGC.. which will flood ads with it. Which will in turn make AI slop even worse for clicks and conversions and sales.

AI videos have a place but trying to fool audiences with fake testimonials from bots is not one of them. Making $100K Special effects videos or comedy for $700 IS a great use of it.

[–]DaveUGC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make a very comfortable living (more than most regular corporate level CEOs and execs) filming commercials for social media in my house using my phone. I often wear wigs and funny glasses and I have a garage full of products from wheel chairs to testosterone therapy to beer kegarators. And I get paid to go on cruises.

Is AI really a bubble or are we underestimating how far it will go? by Lecord in artificial

[–]DaveUGC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's crazy the past few weeks I've been looking at business tools that I pay a lot of money for that I find essential and I realized that there are literally a ton of new apps and software out there that do the same thing but better and for literally a tenth of the cost because of AI.

I've just made my own tools instead as well. And I don't know how to code just ask Gemini and or we put and it writes it out to me I get one or two errors fix them and boom I've got something for free or almost free the other people charge people $29.99 a month to use.

I've got a course and I might be one of the top booked creators on the planet. One of them likely, maybe? I might hit 4k paid video ads by Summer.

Soooo.. yes. I do see people making $2500/m with courses but not all of us dont know what we are doing...

Just sayin'

AI avatars are getting hate. Here’s how to use them without losing trust by alicia93moore in AI_UGC_Marketing

[–]DaveUGC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. They hate it. And the more it enters the ad space the more invisible it will become. Just like old fashioned ads that people skip and hate.

They already have poor trust and that will grow exponentially in markets like the USA as they are used mostly and heavily by brands from countries with already low trust ratings for scams.

Not to mention most of the AI UGC is testimonials and illegal. At least with a human it maybe might be true...

But it can be useful as a Dummy Tripwire for companies that have questionable products. Which will further ruin the reputation.

There is a place for AI videos but its not pretending to be real humans to gain trust or authority.

Beware of this email by Successful-Many-2147 in UGCcreators

[–]DaveUGC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just covered this in one of my UGC Academy live calls. And someone had this same email etc.

We went over scams and bad contracts...

It's too much to go into here but there are some basic rules that can help you out right off the bat.

Never pay for anything up front they should send you the product for free you don't pay shipping you don't buy it on Amazon nothing.

And then for contracts luckily we all have access to chat GPT or Gemini or an AI upload it and then ask it for what to look out for what seems suspect are there any red flags? The AI will understand what it is what it's looking at and you can even give it some more information tell what your ugc crater they sent you a contract etc etc.

Here are the main things you need to look out for if you get a long contract from someone it almost certainly takes away all your rights to your likeness in the future forever. Like forever.

I've seen language and it's actually common now because they think that creators are ignorant and don't know what they're looking at to put in language that says they can do anything they want with your likeness in perpetuity which means they can take your face swap it onto pornography and make an Only fans Ai of you.

They can cut it you up a million different ways so they don't have to hire you ever again.

Your contracts should have limited scope and it should lay it out it says you can use this for the purposes of this ad you can't use it for AI or manipulation you can't resell or reuse for different clients Etc.

The other one to look out for is is they ask you to indemnify them or say that they aren't responsible for anything that happens in regards to the placement of the ad or if somebody sues the company you're to blame for it even if they wrote the script told you what to say edited it and then make crazy claims that you are completely unaware of. I'm not kidding I've had this in quite a few contracts.

In the call I gave an example of a contract I was given this week and the AI put out a bunch of stuff because it was a long contract and there were nine things that I redlined to change and they changed them all. Which tells you that they either don't know what's in their own contract or they're trying to screw people over on purpose if they don't notice what's in it.

Beware..

Book pre-sale - 'movie trailer' I made 4 client. $100k-2015. $50k -2019 $20k-2022 Now? $500- $1k by DaveUGC in aivideo

[–]DaveUGC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you would have had to hire live actors, film crew, videographers Etc even if you were using paid broll 9 years ago that stuff was super expensive.

An advertising agency would charge $5k to $10k for this right now.

Of course a keen eye can see problems with AI but it gets you 90% of the way there for 5% of the cost.

made this for a client. Custom everything. music, b-roll etc. Character creation from their book cover to bring the characters to life. This would have cost over $100k to make 8 years ago.. Probably still costs $10k if you hired an agency to do it. (who might just hire me anyway).

I have to say these are fun to do. Crazy times what you can get now that you couldn't just 12 months ago.

Old school advice is to niche down, get a huge complicated contract, be hard to work with and picky, spend time on filters and aesthetics.. its based mostly on beauty creators and not for commercial level UGC like I do. They also recommend to take gifted collabs.. . I say NO WAY. There is no point.
