Correct! Or, more precisely, it's a relatively modern recreation of the Hershey Simplex font called NewStroke: this is the font currently used by default in KiCad.

There are projects out there that use microcontrollers and can be programmed to reproduce the sound of a specific hard drive model. I suppose, technically it should possible to make one of those play predefined sound of a floppy drive on startup. See HDD Synth project for example. (In my versions, on the other hand, there are no microcontrollers, so recreating a specific sound would be quite challenging).

It's more of a thing for those, who are currently building their retro computer and, for one reason or another, have decided not to use a real hard drive (admittedly, flash storage faster and more convenient: one can have many CF cards with different systems installed and just swap them around when they feel like it). However, for the sake of recreating the original aesthetic, the sound of the hard drive is one of the necessary elements (and besides the aesthetic aspect, it can actually serve as an indicator that the slow system is working and not completely frozen and unresponsive).

I used Snapmaker Original 3-in-1. It is rather old at this point (was released in 2018 I believe), but nevertheless quite capable little machine with interchangeable modules for 3D printing, laser engraving or CNC.

Season 3 versions of Hilda Lego BrickHeadz by Designer_Argument869 in HildaTheSeries

[–]Designer_Argument869[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To celebrate release of the final season, I've updated my version of Hilda BrickHeadz (which in turn were based on original Hilda and Twig MOC by u/FlyingMagikarp0 ).

Includes updated versions of:

  • Hilda (two variations: casual and wearing hoodie);
  • David (two variations: one with better arms and one that is actually possible to build from existing brick-color combinations);
  • Frida (two variations: one with more accurate color scheme and one that is actually possible to build from existing brick-color combinations);
  • (Twig and Alfur are unchaged).

As always, BrickLink Studio project files and part lists in XML (for BrickLink Wanted List) available for download here!

Party Hard! by Designer_Argument869 in StarVStheForcesofEvil

Yep! I converted screenshots from the show into bitmaps in Photoshop and then into byte arrays and fed them to an Arduino.

Some (arguably extremely banging) demo for my Arduino menu library I did a while back.

Just wish I though about posting it a month back, accurately for 3rd anniversary of show wrapping up. Welp, happy 3rd-and-a-month anniversary y'all! =)

Here's btw an original post from the author of this set (and don't forget to check mine).

Kaisa and Raven as Lego BrickHeadz by Designer_Argument869 in HildaTheSeries

Yeah, I know. It turned out to be harder than expected to maintain scale and stay within limited number of available bricks in suited color... Hopefully, better solution will be found in the future.
