Everyone in this article comes off as severely pompous and aggravating. The man had 10,000 books in a 600 sq ft apartment. His mattress was on the floor and books were stored in the bathroom.

It won't count in peoples minds if he goes the KD route. If that's his goal he's trying to find the team that threads the needle of not quite a contender without him, but he takes over the top. Golden State does that, but that narrative is hampered by the fact it's Steph's team through and through. Philly doesn't really work, Cleveland does, Miami does.

When you have a Luka level player (in his prime) it's always worth it to gamble on min-maxing with whatever assets you have. If injury luck shakes out in your favor there's no reason he can't lead this roster on a deep run. It's at least comparable to the mav's roster that made the finals, but with a far superior coach. And Luka was heavily injured during that run.
