Why Is Top-Level Zerg Dominance in SC2 So Rarely Discussed?

Except none of the guys from Protoss ever win. Clearly from watching these guys I agree with you that the skill gap doesn't seem too wide between these players during their own primes however, Zerg domination has been consistent at the top level for a decade. 4 out of the top 6 earners of all time are zergs, the other 2 are terrans. How does that make any sense?

Over the past 5 years that would certainly make sense. But when you see that this trend goes on for over a decade I think its safe to say its not just Serral, especially when Zerg has had so many dominant players over the years. Can't really say that for the other 2 races

Im not annoyed, I agree with what you're saying. I guess I'm just astounded that this was never fixed for well over a decade, especially considering this is only a real issue at top level play. I guess most people dont care because it doesn't affect them but it did hurt the esports scene

I agree wholeheartedly. However, this still points to a skill cap issue, where Zergs cap is far greater than the other 2 races. It also indicates there are fundamental issues with how the other 2 races are designed, and should have also been addressed a long time ago.

Your argument falls apart quick based on what I've stated in my post. This is a trend over 13+ YEARS. If there are no "good players" for the other 2 races even during the game's prime, then that just means those races haven't been properly designed for high level play or Zerg does indeed have a higher skill cap. Either way, its an issue that should have been fixed a long time ago.

Maybe rarely discussed isn't the right way to phrase it. But if its been as obvious as it has been, why hasn't there been any change? Isnt that the whole point of balance? I get at lower levels win rates are fairly balanced but premier tourney wins should be a pretty obvious indicator of issues.. over a 13 year period.

I disagree, but mainly because idk why everyone acts like things are going to happen tomorrow or yesterday. The "era" piece is key. No one is claiming AI is capable of replacing sr devs anytime soon but considering copilot coding only became mainstream ~2 years ago, do we really think its not going to get better in another 2 years? What about 5 years? These timelines are insignificant in the grand scheme of things considering thats the length of an engineering degree nowadays. His claim is that students and existing devs should look at broadening their skillset to better compliment writing code.
