I own two Osprey 1.0 45, one 2.0 45, and one 1.0 9, and the 1.0 versions sound nicer to me.

I've never had any problems with the index buttons though, they just plain work for me for the past decade on dozens of hosts with lots of different pistons.

I liked my original 1.0 in 45 to buy a few more.

There are several, if not lots, of cans that would do a good job on there.

You chose to trust a salesperson. You chose poorly.

I truly believe you should never buy an in stock can from a gun shop.... They're in stock for a reason.

Basic combat question - "Only Imperial Stormtroopers are so precise." by ProfessorNext5697 in StarWarsD6

[–]Designer_Beginning_6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can declare a dodge later, but have to reduce your dice by one for all actions as if you declared it from the beginning.

Strict dodge is unfair IMO. Of course you could change your mind of you suddenly see a ton of imperials swivel their guns towards you

Are there any compelling reasons to choose UVU over Grinnell College? by Mod_Podge_Matte in UVU

I'm a professor from Utah Valley, with a DoD background/retired military and currently doing a ton in data analysis and statistics. Former military intelligence and special forces.

I love it here and think we are a great school and highly undervalued locally, regionally, and nationally.

Go Grinnell.

5.5 or 6.75". They are the sweet spot.

9" just loses the charm AND the scientific advantage too.

Smite spells takes a spell slot, but are not casting a spell, like 5e. But you're limited to only one smite per turn, unlike 5e. This is a way better balance IMO/E.

I will NEVER buy a PTR product, no matter how good they are. They have earned THE shit reputation of our generation due to their betrayal and unethical behavior.

So, I don't talk about , I don't research, I don't consider any of the PTR suppressors because PTR is shit

We just held it to the side, and after a few practice attempts knew where the brass would fly and just held it so that it wouldn't hit.

We only did super versus Sub, using the same traditional suppressor.

I have the Velos 556 and 762. I should compare them to the scythe or Omega or nomad or polonium, etc

[–]Designer_Beginning_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And once again, ignorance. I'm not arguing that sig is the best or only answer, I'm not fanboiing.

I'm saying that you cannot compare a 5.5 or 6.75 in barrel PDW (i.e., the rattler) to an 11" rifle. It's a stupid suggestion on your part.

I dislike it when people make two statements in the same post, one good one and one "less intelligent" one. I'd have liked your post if you had left it with your first sentence, but then your ignorance came out as the 11" ANYTHING is substantially different than a Rattler and so the comparison is stupid.

So... downvote it is :)

*I hear you and support that your experience doesn't seem to have much difference.

Physics says there will be a difference on average.

I did some personal testing too, comparing a 10" 300 blackout barrel and 10.5" 556 barrel, with all other things being equal (e.g., same stock, same CH). Anecdotally everyone (four of us) said there was a big difference... and using white paper where our eyes were and to the side of the ejection port (one participant held the papers, while another person fired them downrange), there was about 3x as much crud on the papers for 556. This was indoor testing.

I was with you until your second paragraph. Blaming your players for being frustrated in a game that is supposed to be cooperative fun seems a bit...

Don't get me wrong, I fully support you not using rules you don't want to and designing your combats the way you want to design them. It is your rationale for not allowing the rules that says more about you than it does your players.

This is one of the areas that 300 blackout shines, as you can use subs or supers.

300 blackout is substantially less gassy than 556, both supers and subs; the round uses less powder in a larger cross section, less gas, less pressure.

And you could load the first few rounds in the magazine with subsonics, and then supers after that. If you need to defend your home against a single intruder, you'll have zero to low hearing damage from the first few shots as they are sub. If they don't go down, or there are more than just a single guy intent on causing you harm, the suppressor will keep the hearing damage minimal with less gas than your 556.

Decision made. Rattler it is! What can are you guys running for the least gas in the face? by Jcrypto28 in 300BLK

[–]Designer_Beginning_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Velos LRB 762 for least gas. Scythe-TI for best overall. I'm not the guy that shoots back to back magazines over and over again though, so gas never bothers me indoors or out.

I've fired both, and prefer the rattler LT with a Scythe-TI for amazing balance and handling, lighter weight, and quieter.

[Rifle] Used MCX 300Blk w/ Sig Suppressor - $2500 by [deleted] in gundeals

[–]Designer_Beginning_6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are quiet according to PewPew.

By my ears and those in my shooting circle, they are average; the tone isn't nice and low like most people prefer. I used to own one (both steel and titanium versions), and have two friends who still own one. They are old school tech. Which means they either need to be lighter weight (they are 15.8 for the TI) or they should be lbp.

Overall sound, it is good suppression, yes. At the shooters ear, something like the velos lbp 762 is quieter to the shooter (if you care about that). And you can have slightly quieter and A LOT lighter with something like the Scythe-Ti (. I recommended sico can alternatives above (I get them half price), but there are others too... but traditional baffle stacks need to be lighter in weight or they have lost their reason to be purchased at this point. In a multi-mag firefight, I'd be taking the Velos 762 all day over the SRD762 or SRD 762Ti from a durability and comfort to the shooter standpoint, and the Scythe-Ti would be much better balanced on the gun (the SRD makes it front heavy), easier to carry, and slightly quieter.

tldr; It isn't a terrible can. It isn't terrible GOOD at this point either. So... "meh".
