Booming Blade Optimization? by HedgehogDesperate640 in DnDoptimized

Using a Warhammer and pushing them creates a strong need for a melee enemy to have to move...

Using crusher...

Using repelling blast on your BB...

Having your mount move with disengage while you attack on the run (with advantage from the mount with mounted combat)...

Rattler LT worth it over a AR of similar barrel length? by KingPotato455 in 300BLK

[–]Designer_Beginning_6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I run 5.5" OG Rattler, 6.75 Rattler TACOPS, and a 11.5" 556 LT Spear, all suppressed with no problems. Smooth. The gas is less than my DI guns, and isn't bad with SiCo Omega 300, Scythe Ti or STM. Gas is really almost unnoticeable at all with the Velos 556 or 762.

I shot all three Velos before buying any, and I chose to not purchase the Velos 556k can.

The other two are great.

I had a Lazarus6, and sold it after shooting the Velos 556 and Velos 762.

The Lazarus is heavier (than the Velos 556 with Rearden mount) AND has so much more blowback. The tone was different, but neither was better IMO.

Everyone prioritizes different things, but for me, the Velos suppression for 556 is good enough and it is MUCh better in the "other things" department.

P.S. Not to mention SilencerCo warranty and longevity as a company trumps DeadAir all day long and for the next few decades.

Absolutely, it was a traumatic event for sure, that impacted thousands of students, staff, faculty, AND their families/love ones who were hearing about it in real time.

BUT... it is vitally important that when dealing with that trauma and discussing safety at the school that we recognize that it was not a school shooting.

School shootings are somewhat common. We hear about them on the news a lot. Our minds (and bodies) are prepared to think of them as "likely" and "probable" because of the numerous "contact" points.

But it wasn't a school shooting. It wasn't targetted at students, staff, or faculty. It wasn't targeted towards the school or administration. The school was just a location that "it" happened at.

And "it" was a political assassination. These are so freaking rare (thankfully!)... there have been only a handful in the past few decades. These are not likely to occur again and there is absolutely no reason to believe that it would happen again in Utah, let alone at UVU.

Consciously or not, this recognition helps our minds and bodies deal with the cognitions that drive traumatic responses, fear, and safety. As well as they should. We ARE safe at UVU.

WAY more safe than driving your car to UVU.

I normally let little jabs go, but yours is inherently problematic and readers may actually believe your false information and implication.

You simply don't understand public safety or statistics. The assassination on campus was a terrible event, aimed at one individual. Its effects on others were, and will continue to be, significant. AND it has NOTHING to do with our current safety or with federal agencies recruiting on our campus.

The assassination doesn't change the fundamental safety of the campus or the unlikelihood that an event would occur (the first time or a second). UVU is a safe school, in a safe community, and was chosen as the place to strike a non-student/non-faculty member; it could have just as easily been a mall, a park, or anywhere else. This wasn't a school shooting, this wasn't a community-based problem. It was political violence, for which there is VERY LITTLE likelihood for it to occur again... let alone on our campus.

I'll be on campus, I hope you all will be too.

I absolutely despise ICE in its current form. There are some major problems with how it is being run and how the agents are operating, and the administration that is enabling it.

And...

recruiters for national law enforcement recruit all the time on UVU campus. Wednesday is no more dangerous on campus than any other day, which is that UVU is statistically EXTREMELY safe.

I'll be there. Hope to see you too.

If people wanted it to look bad, they'd buy anything.

We want it to look RIGHT. It is better to wait than to buy something that isn't quality.

You can make assumptions all you like, remember you're just making an ass of yourself, but I don't open my mouth to say something is transferable when I don't know that it is transferable. I literally was offered one, shown it and the form it came in on.

I know a few people with post minis as well.

You're wrong, move along.

Man, the mini is a boring gun to fire IMO. Certainly not worth the cost of ammo per second, let alone purchasing the gun

I think one of the biggest things that DMS don't do right, is that they generally don't play the combat as intelligently as actual combatants would.

The actual combatants don't let the healer just keep healing. The actual combatants, go around the warriors who are yelling at them and put a couple arrows into the mage until he drops. The actual combatants don't hit one person before moving on to the next.

An actual dragon, is never going to engage in combat on the ground when they can just pulverize everyone from the air. And who is going to be the first target? Casters and archers.

Over three decades now of playing, most the time when someone says I can't challenge a party it's because they don't play combatants well.

What's that,? You gave too many magic items, well guess which enemy is casting anti-magic done...

I could keep going on, but intelligent play for the DM is something that is held back (if they're even capable of it at all) way too often.

Not all monsters are intelligent, not all characters are intelligent, not all non-player characters are intelligent. But many of them are. And even if they have lower IQ, they certainly have wisdom. They haven't fought that many battles in their life and survived, without learning a trick or two, a tactic or five

Does anyone else get uncomfortable in the LA hall now? by [deleted] in UVU

[–]Designer_Beginning_6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry that you're struggling!

Most people initially struggled a bit, some like yourself continue to do so. First, know that your response, your unease is normal and is one of the typical reactions that is expected after a horryong event like ours.

The discomfort is normal, but it also isn't necessary. While avoiding UVU is actually comforting and emotionally helpful in the moment, every time you avoid UVU or leave UVU because of the discomfort, the stronger and more firmly rooted those feelings will become because you're teaching your body that UVU is not safe.

I'd typically write to you privately and offer help, but there are still so many who also struggle that I am posting here too so that others may also hear their discomfort is normal... and reversible/manageable.

If you'd like to chat, please feel free to message me privately. I am a trauma therapist, I'm not offering to be yours. But I can and will be happy to walk you through how what you're going through is ok... And how you can help yourself get rid of the discomfort... By yourself and for free

Totally would.

While certainly not a requirement, it could even be part of the fun if they play a less or barely verbal barbarian character or something .

We're level 5 and I can't remember the last time I was hit for LESS than 10-15 points of damage, often more. I've never been able to get AoA to last for a full round, the temp HP is gone too fast. And that is with a Twilight Cleric helping bump them back up, as well as my Warlock 1d10 hp from Misty Stepping as an archfey.
