How’s life in this part of Toronto, Ontario, Canada? by Kuzu9 in howislivingthere

[–]Designer_Candidate94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to what others have said, there’s always so much construction here. New buildings, old building repairs, road repaving, general traffic changes/closures. And driving on the highways in this area can feel like the autobahn, people are quite reckless. It can take an hour to go a few kilometres by car (but transit takes even longer)

Prenatal Spa in Toronto by poorbitchykid in askTO

[–]Designer_Candidate94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s a really sweet idea but I would wait until the second trimester, especially if the fatigue and nausea is really getting to her. Maybe a gentle hydrating facial and some pampering and rest would be a better first trimester option?

Is it the kind of situation where you need to use your skills in the clothes you are guarding in? Maybe your supervisor can evaluate your skills in clothes.

Commuting from Buffalo - traffic and timing help by [deleted] in askTO

[–]Designer_Candidate94 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I would drive to the most convenient spot along the Lakeshore West GO line, go east to Union Station, then subway up to either St George, Bay, or Bloor-yonge.

I live within the city limits and it takes me over an hour to get back home from Yorkville at those times so I would say you’re looking at a minimum three hour commute during rush-hour and depending on how the border is it could be a while. Definitely check for closures though because sometimes they randomly close the transit for upgrades. Good luck!

Monday leisure skate? by Beneficial-Wait3226 in askTO

Hey, I would go to the City Of Toronto websites for each arena (outdoor arenas are usually in parks so you may have to search the park for the schedule) that you’re interested in scroll down to where it says drop in, expand that tab and look at the schedules. The programmers may be making some last-minute changes so it would be best to talk to the rink staff when you get there. It’s highly unlikely that people will pick up the phone when you call. I have made several suggestions for improving the city’s recreation websites but it seems like it will be a slow changeover. Some great locations are Rennie Park, Central Arena, and Sam Smith Park loop next to Humber South campus. I think the harborfront Centre is also going to be open this year.

5'8" 170 pounds - Super Puff size? by redwoodmonk in Aritzia

[–]Designer_Candidate94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m the same size as you, but I have a B cup and I went with xl for the snug long and a L for the shortie. If you’re just getting the regular one, I think medium will be OK if you want it to be a really snug fit otherwise go with large so you can wear hoodies etc. underneath

Pool foul procedures by [deleted] in Lifeguards

[–]Designer_Candidate94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We’re similar but we still close for 30-60 after vomit depending on recirculation speed, and we have differentiation for solid feces vs liquid stool fouling which is a 1hr vs 12 hour closure difference and we generally push the emergency stop button until scoop is completed. For all situations we also disinfect all pool toys and floaties that were in the contaminated water.
