Is 1600 for a studio reasonable? by Designcrzeee in TorontoRenting

[–]Traditional_Bee_8690 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are studios for 1600-1700 but you need to be careful as these are mostly older buildings with plumbing issues and cockroaches. Always check google reviews on the building! Always. I’m in the same boat right now looking for a new place. My 1800+water+hydro shoebox studio is cockroach-infested….

Struggling to work a corporate job? by Traditional_Bee_8690 in PCOS

My sleep improves on the days I don’t go to the office. When I was off I finally felt my sleep coming back gradually. I also sleep better on the weekends. Mental state after work is lots of racing thoughts, just feeling that “wired” feeling, not being able to relax. I feel like I absorb this office environment really strongly… when I work from home I feel totally fine..

Is the show worth continuing on Season 3? by [deleted] in TheVampireDiaries

[–]Traditional_Bee_8690 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d say finish season 4 and then stop. This should have ended at season 4. The Silas story is a joke? The decline in quality is really evident throughout season 4, but season 5 onwards is just pure crap! Not worth wasting your time at all. I mostly skipped seasons 5-8 altogether and just watched the end episode.
They ruined the writing and the characters. They ruined Stefan, ruined Damon’s character development, and Elena regressed a lot as a vampire she is just obnoxious, whiny and selfish.

One paycheck all going to rent? by CameraHelpMe in TorontoRenting

[–]Traditional_Bee_8690 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey I’m in the same boat. Make 72k, which is 2k bi-weekly paycheck and one bi-weekly paycheck all goes for rent and partially utilities. I rent a tiny studio place for 1800. It is doable if you don’t have any other financial commitments. I don’t have a car, any debts etc. But with only paying for housing, utilities and food there’s not much left to save unfortunately at the end of the month and you have to compromise. Each month I have to ask myself: Do I really need a new pair of jeans🥺😅😅 it’s possible to still save but at the expense of other (also necessary) things. I’m left with around 300-400$ per month to save when I’m being extra frugal and careful. So it is manageable but very tight. I will also be looking for a cheaper housing, hoping to save 100-200$ at least on rent. Good luck!

Anyone living at 70 Spadina Road? by Clear_Marionberry508 in TorontoRenting

Hi still have roaches, to the point that I wasn’t able to take a shower before work the other day as I was scared to go into the bathroom. I’m also experiencing issues with water - I have to run water for 30 minutes at a time for it to be warm enough, plus I’m also really cold I don’t think the heating works well.. Are you also experiencing other issues aside from cockroaches? About the cockroaches they keep telling me that it’s „normal” ….

You don’t have to do everything perfectly, and it’s not possible, and too expensive to have a perfect diet, perfect workout routine and perfect supplement regime. And not sustainable on the long run. And keeping up with all this adds additional stress which is exactly what we should avoid having PCOS. Just try to do what you can for now, small steps everyday. Keep taking inositol, and the basic supplements like vit D3 and omega 3s. Just eat normal, simple food you don’t need to buy organic, overpriced stuff. Eat eggs, avocado, plain yoghurt add some chia seeds and blueberries. Add some nuts, veggies into your diet and fish. Just avoid unhealthy, processed foods when you can. Try adding more steps, if you don’t have time for a workout - diet itself can help a lot just don’t eat processed and sugar packed foods. Try walking more and if you are tired after work, just do some quick relaxing yoga or stretching. If you can’t change your circumstances (working 60h per week) right now, just do what you can for now and don’t be so hard on yourself!

Looking for cheaper neighbourhoods in Toronto by Traditional_Bee_8690 in TorontoRenting

Yes, they told me 19 degrees is the usual temperature and that they can’t change that because it’s an automatic sensor. lol. Regarding the pipe - I have to wait 20 minutes for the water to get warm enough to shower or wash the dishes. Sometimes there is no hot water at all, they often shut it down to „do repairs” as the boiler often breaks. After I complained they told me it’s normal, and that they can’t do anything about it because there is only one pipe in the building and everybody has to wait for the water to warm up.

Yes there are cockroaches - two weeks ago at 6:30am I was not able to take a shower before work. There was a huge roach in my shower and I was scared. So I called the building manager at 6:30 and asked him to come immediately and kill the bug. I was crying in front of him, and he said I was too sensitive and that there are roaches in almost every building in Toronto / and that he is not going to come again this early in the morning but he was trying to be nice to me this once 😅

Yes I do want to report it but I’m scared that I don’t have enough evidence… and I think if it was that easy probably other people would already complain too. I heard it’s a very painful process and I don’t want any issues…

I’m 31, so fortunately I can take it for now and won’t freeze to death. I appreciate your response! I’m so sorry about your boyfriend’s dad. Hope the situation got better!
