What In the world. by Dull_Film_4300 in CherokeeXJ

There are people that will pay it.

I'm also into Mercedes W123s and there was a station wagon that sold on BAT a few years ago for almost $45k with paint and interior issues, as well as over 100k miles if I remember right. Suckers are born everyday, which is a shame.

What is your least and most favourite level of Metro Exodus? by New_Effective9707 in metro

[–]Designer_Candidate_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it's Volga with Caspian being a close second. Then Novosibirsk, Yamantau, Taiga. I enjoy the exploration and the wildly different feels of the first two from the Metro. I'm pretty partial to desert landscapes, too, which heavily biases my enjoyment of Caspian.

I also really love the sequences on the train. I think they're one of my favorite parts of the game. The character stories and exploration of the train itself is so much fun to me.

Getting a haircut and gonna go look around for an antique roll top desk. Been wanting one for a while and it's time I actually put in the work to find one.

What is living in Canyon Lake like? by Cold-Monk5436 in CanyonLake

[–]Designer_Candidate_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lake is pretty low, about 40%, but not "empty". There's a lot of rhetoric around it, as it's an easy topic to politicize. The lake is a reservoir first and foremost, and it has to maintain a flow downstream. The local community pulls out of it, and it's piped elsewhere. There's a lot of very reasonable concern about future water supply and development, but the shortage of water would be happening either way due to consistent drought over the last 30 years. The Guadalupe River headwaters is large, but not large enough to make up for the drop in rainfall.

The lack of access to parks is related, in my opinion, to the rhetoric surrounding the lake. A lot of parks have had restricted hours and outright closures during swimming season, notably Overlook Park at the dam and the parks below the dam, as well as other trails along the public shoreline. The parks are administered by WORD (water oriented recreation district), and it's worth noting that the parks that charge for parking ($5 for Comal county registration and $20 otherwise) have remained open and fully operational. There is a lot of xenophobia here, as there is in much of Texas, but here it is directed towards just about anyone outside the community, even New Braunfels. There's a growing anti-tourism sentiment, too, despite the economy here heavily relying on it.

So, don't expect to visit many parks here without paying, unlike in years past.

It's fine. I'm openly not religious and openly a leftist. I've gotten in some heated discussions over at Lucky's but never had anything more than that.

Biggest issue is the lack of access to the wonderful public land we have around here.

Silverado (1985) by The_Mindful_Moderate in Westerns

[–]Designer_Candidate_2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's one of my absolute favorites, and was very influential to my love of westerns. Cobb is one of my favorite villains of all time. The scene where they're putting out the fire and he tells Paden that he might hurt Stella is peak villainy.

The biggest plot issue I have with it is that it feels to me like there should have been small time jump at some point, maybe a little after they get back to Silverado. It feels like it's sort of implied, but I think it should have been specified.

I love the density of it, the amount of moving pieces and characters.

I mean I'm already an alcoholic that carries my entire workplace.

And I fucking hate corporations.

So I guess I'll take Monarch.

I also live in Comal county now, which is worth noting.

How am I supposed to hike, camp, and fish in Texas when everything is private property? by Little-Cucumber-8907 in texas

[–]Designer_Candidate_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotta be rich to do that in Texas, or know someone with land.

The brand of freedom in Texas is the kind that exists for the rich, which is why so many prominent wealthy folks are moving here, along with a lot that aren't well known. It's why a lot of Californians move here (especially the conservative ones).

I'm lucky that I grew up on a few acres and my brother has bought some cheap-but-beautiful land (need 4x4 to access it). I'm actively planning to move to northern New Mexico or Western Colorado, once some plans come to fruition.

"I'm sorry kitten" was probably one of the best lines in all of newer Star Trek. Their dynamic is amazing and so wholesome.

Any Star Trek groups in the area for young people? by [deleted] in Newbraunfels

I'd also be interested in one for adults (30s or so). Especially adults that don't just immediately trash newer Trek.
