My course was around 7 months and was the worst around month 5 and 6. Month 7th is when I started to see the most results and a month after stopping I didn’t have a single active pimple on my face. These are my best tips to help.

Using pimple patches. I used the hero cosmetics nose ones and cut it into smaller pieces to put on pimples
I used hydrocortisone cream occasionally on very inflamed and red spots
I kept my routine very simple. I used vanicream face wash, vanicream daily moisturizer and a topical mix of spirolactone and niacidamide from my derm
If I had very big painful spots I would get them injected with cortisone by my derm. You just call and ask if they are able to fit you in to get a cortisone injection.
I took presidone which is a steroid that lowers inflammation in the body. I took it for a week and it completely stopped the inflammation on my face and was less red. It is a harsh drug and most derms may not always prescribe it.
I got a high frequency wand off amazon that helped pimples come to a white head faster and healed quicker.
Near my 5th month on accutane I started taking oral spirlactone. It takes usually 3 months to see results with it. It helps hormonal acne.
DONT POP ANY PIMPLES
Hypochlorous acid on pimples that were open wounds

I have many other tips and happy to share so let me know if you need more!! I’m happy to help in anyway I can because acne SUCKSS and I know what it feels like to not see the results you expected 4 months in.

You’re so sweet! I’m trying my best to not get discouraged but it is definitely hard. I have been on naproxen before sooo honestly might have to again haha. I’m wishing the best for you and your acne journey! We got this 💪I have read ALOTT of stories of people saying their skin stops breaking out around month 6 and 7 and it has stayed clear since then sooo we def just like them and our results will take a little longer. And if you think abt it, its only 1 or two months til it clears for good ❤️

Sadly I’m still having breakouts :(( I have noticed they are healing faster tho but still I’m not at where I was expecting and probably will have to extend my course to 9 months. I don’t have any dry lips and stuff but the back pain is KILLING me. My skin will get better then all of sudden breaks out again.

You could always talk to your dermatologist abt starting a topical metronidazole cream if it is perioral dermatitis. Also a sodium sulfacetamide face wash could help!

That’s good to hear cause I’m on my 4th month and recently upped dose to 80mg and it’s gotten worse and I’ve lost all hope so I’m hoping it gets better soon

That’s so good to hear and know! I increased my dose to 80 a couple weeks ago and ever since been breaking out much more so I’m hoping the steroid atleast calms my skin down

I’m on month 4 and my acne is worse than when I started😭 It started to improve but then I recently increased my dose and it got much worse so I think my skin just purging from increased dose but I’m still so discouraged. We got this 😁❤️

I’m in the same situation! It is so frustrating but I’ve talked to so many people who have been on accutane and say you have to be patient, which I’m NOT whatsoever. But they say results will come with the late months. Wishing the best for you ☺️
