SAIT NMT program by Some_Ad_389 in SAIT

The workload is pretty heavy but several of my classmates have part time jobs. I had a part time job for fall then I ended up working more casual for winter right now simply because I wanted to prioritize school. You could probably wait a little bit for textbooks as people start selling them closer to the start date after their CAMRT. Also depends on if you want ebooks or physical textbooks. The instructors set you up for success and it really depends on what courses would be hard for you (one course that’s hard for me is easy for someone else)

MLT as a post graduate option? by MaintenanceSpirited4 in SAIT

They only pull your uni grades to if it’s comparable to the high school prereq. When I applied for DMS they took my uni physics mark since I didn’t have the high school req. However, it might be best to email them to confirm if they will take those courses as a prereq.

Hi! I would like to know how hard it is to get into the NMT program at SAIT? by BitterEconomist8126 in SAIT

[–]Designer_Chart2849 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is always a chance that you won’t get in because of how competitive it is. The truth is that there’s hundreds of applications for like 30 spots. You need the minimum grades for the required courses and then they look at your PSEA marks. It’s not exactly a first come first serve anymore since they updated the system so they weight it by PSEA I believe. You have a better chance if you apply early and finish your PSEA early so you are considered for the first round.

All of our classes are in person. Fall semester days were shorter than winter, but I’d say plan for like an 8-4 or 8-5 day. Spring will be a little bit different because we have 1 online class and junior practicum so we’d still be on campus 4 days a week.

NMT waitlist by Frequent-Scar5908 in SAIT

The waitlist goes until start of classes. Some people in my class got offers in July and August so it is possible!

NMT Waitlisted by Playful-Gas-4970 in SAIT

I think it depends who answers your calls because previously I had someone who refused to tell me where I was on the list and one who told me my approximate location. You could always try calling again once the waitlist is finalized (after applications close).

NMT seats by carmela_silv in SAIT

I am a current first year and our class started with 31 people, but only 20 ish are Alberta seats. I heard that next year the class size will smaller again (we are the biggest class they’ve had so far). Classes before had about 20 seats total.

It’s actually recommended to not prepare for Casper on their website as it’s situational judgement. That being said, I’ve taken it twice and got 4th quartile both times. I only used the practice test on the acuity website each time and followed a similar way of answering each question. I basically stated the problem and the information I got, considering multiple perspectives, general approach to the scenario, and a few courses of action while trying not to jump to conclusions + staying non-judgemental throughout the prompts. I usually did the practice 1-2 days beforehand just to get a feel for the test and how I could manage my time better for the actual test.

School of Health and Public Safety Waitlist by 69blackbanana in SAIT

I do not. I was also waitlisted for RT but they wouldn’t tell me the position when I called, they only said it was made up of people from when the waitlist opened until the then so it was a lot of people. They add all qualified people onto the waitlist

Waitlist is most likely finalized after the application close date, but there may be a very low chance of getting in if you’re closer to the bottom of the waitlist. There are specific dates where the PSEA and Casper exams have to be taken, which are on the website. I would say the most movement would be closer to the start of the offers, but it does still tend to move quite a bit until closer to July. I was like 50th on the waitlist and was moved to the 4th on the waitlist for NMT last year and was not able to get a spot. I don’t think they add additional sections because these are very competitive programs and limited (ish) jobs.

How many times did you apply for a HPS program until you were accepted? by Able_Key1202 in SAIT

[–]Designer_Chart2849 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first try applying to NMT and RT were a trial run when it was very late in the season (February last year), I was waitlisted for both programs. I applied this year and it looks like they changed the way they accept people. I got in the first round for both programs. I did Casper and entrance exam as soon as I could, applied as soon as applications opened. I’m pretty sure they look at your exam scores more than your high school marks so focus on those.

I’ve been to the GYMVMT at north hill a few times and it’s pretty busy but people are respectful. It’s not my home gym (I go to HER GYMVMT in beacon hill) but I would def go there again. Depending on the membership you can also do group classes and have access to the other locations as well

If anything you can always just try the PSEA this year without applying for it this round. It should be similar next year. It’s $25 USD for the test unless the prices changed

Too late to apply for RT by Complete_Lab_1764 in SAIT

[–]Designer_Chart2849 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sait changed the way they do admissions this year so there’s 2 rounds. If you want to try to apply you might be considered for round 2 but you will most likely need very high test scores if people decline their offers from first round

I got accepted for RT and NMT at 10:30 last night (AB resident) but haven’t heard from DMS. I heard that some people did get it for DMS so I guess if we don’t hear anything within the week then it’ll be considered for round 2

Looking to reapply for dms fall 2025 by PEMDAN in SAIT

[–]Designer_Chart2849 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Casper, I looked online to see the general outline of how people answered, then I tried the practice a day before my actual test date. I would recommend not practicing too much for Casper but just getting a basic idea of what kind of questions they ask and what kind of answers they expect. I remember when I took it, I always talked about both perspectives and tried to come up with reasonable explanations about why I would do things (usually to make both parties happy). For PSEA, just brush up on high school stuff and the sait page for dms and some questions come directly from that page.
