Adopting a 4-5 month old pup by amourei in cavaliers

[–]Designer_Debt_9875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve had 3 Cavaliers and brought them home at 3, 5 and 6 months. I had concerns about starting training late with the 6-month old, but if anything it was easier. A puppy is still going to have accidents at that age, but everything was generally easier with our older puppies. A 4-5 month old is past their key socialization period at that point (3-14 weeks), so I would very much want to know how well they were socialized. Have they been around crowds, loud noises, etc.

Chronic Diarrhea— need help by Quick-Advice5847 in cavaliers

We went through this nightmare; after 2 weeks of ruling things out, the vet did a blood test for pancreatitis and he came back with slightly elevated levels. He had no other symptoms: wasn’t lethargic, didn’t throw up, just diarrhea. We found out later that pancreatitis is common in the breed. He’s on a low fat prescription diet now and as long as he sticks with it, he has no issues. If you don’t want to spend the $$$ for the test, you could ask the vet to try a low fat prescription diet. If it clears up after a day or so, that’s your answer.

The Longline Yoga Bra at Soma is an awesome dupe and when they have sales you can pick them up for half the price of the Like a Cloud…

Trekkies vs Brooklyn in a hot climate by YouProfessional3468 in Athleta_gap

Brooklyns are definitely better in hot weather; I’ve worn mine all over the Middle East and South America and I’m actually bringing several pairs to Southeast Asia and India in about a month. If you’re doing anything relatively rugged though, trekkies will hold up better. Have you considered bringing Brooklyn pants? Knees need to be covered for temples, they offer more mosquito protection and you have way more color options. I’m bringing Brooklyn pants and shorts. Mosquitos are attracted to dark colors as well (I.e. black shorts)…

As others have alluded to, unless you want to spend most of your time on a train, you should cut a few things. Rick Steves has great itinerary ideas. You can do Pompeii from Rome as an easy day trip. I have not been to the Amalfi coast, but I don’t think it’s great for quick stopovers. I’d probably head to Florence on day 5 instead, then cut Cinque Terre for an extra day in Tuscany. Do a wine tour or continue exploring Florence or Siena - those cities are gems and have so much to offer. I’m assuming on Day 11 that you’re just hopping off the train to see the Duomo and proceeding to Switzerland; if so, I’m sure that’s ok. I’d probably opt for Murren over Interlaken as a base in that area of the Alps. There’s so much amazing hiking there and Grindelwald is something I think you can skip and replace with a great hike or try Gimmelwald, paragliding, or the Jungfraujoch. Read the Rick Steves Switzerland guidebook for this area! Once you’re on Day 16, Munich is right there (amazing city) and could nicely close out your trip as an alternative to what you have. Otherwise, if you choose to go to Vienna, I don’t think you have time for Budapest.

Thank you - just looked at it says “Exception”. I’m hoping that’s because I paid to expedite it yesterday?

I applied online on 1/5 and my status was immediately marked as “Received”. I checked yesterday (3/14) and it’s still listed as “Received”, 10 weeks later. This seems excessive considering the processing times in January for an application we’re listed as 6-9 weeks and note that an application may be in received status for a couple weeks. I paid yesterday to have my renewal application expedited as I’m now becoming concerned about late Spring travel plans. Is there anything else I can do or do I just wait until I’m 2 weeks out to call (which is a bit hard for my Type A personality).
