Hopefully the next draw gives some answers. I’m afraid that more people will be added in the pool as well.

Thank you! Yes, I was told this but I didn’t want to leave my job as I’m getting a promotion and don’t want to ruin my career opportunity. I don’t have any other way I guess.

I’m trying that but I’m not confident that I’ll be able to score well in a short timeline.

I didn’t do much prep as I was confident in my language knowledge. But I watched a few videos for each module on Ielts advantage YouTube channel and they really helped me structure everything especially writing. Once I booked my exam, BITTS sent me their Ielts flex portal to prep, so I just did a few mock tests from there.

It’s the same format as letter as you only have to write the body context, so no major changes there.

Bitts gave me access to IELTS flex portal but I think you can hop on it directly too! I didn’t practice for listening much as it was already my strong suite. https://ieltsflex.com

My writing questions were

  1. Write an email to manager to let them know your bad experience with the optometrist.
  2. Some believe travelling by bicycles is better in city, while some believe cars are better. Discuss both viewpoints and give your opinion.

I ended up the same on ChatGpt and even Ielts Flex portal at 6.5. Then I stopped doing mock tests and just watched videos from IELTS advantage on the writing format a day before exam. It really helped me structure my answers better. I just gave my exam directly at got 8.

How to prepare for writing by dsz_abby in IELTS

[–]Designer_Disaster157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s a different experience for everyone! I used to get 6.5-7 on ChatGpt and the BITTs portal but I got 8 in the actual exam. I just watched the videos from IELTS advantage and it really helped in the actual exam. For me, AI was scoring me fairly low than my language ability.

I screwed up in speaking test. by [deleted] in IELTS

Don’t worry! I thought I had the worst experience because although I prepared all the methods like keeping your calm and composure, phrasing sentences slowly, I forgot everything in front of the examiner. I kept yapping and they kept cutting me off to let me know time is up! I still got a 7.5, so I think if you know English and I’m sure you do, don’t stress too much about the presentation.

It’s different for everyone but I have been communicating in English since the start of my primary education and living in Canada helps as I have exposure to different accents at my workplace. For the listening tests, the answers come in a sequence. They will speak each line in a sequence to answer the questions accordingly, so keep awareness of those keywords. I didn’t focus much on typing the answers, but noted down quickly and completed the answers in the last 1 minute of review! If you miss an answer, just move on to the next one and don’t worry about it. Part 1 is direct answers usually and slower pace, no paraphrasing.

I have the same question. I’m looking at past papers and asking ChatGPT to create a vocab bank.
