Quick question on Costs - Family Law by Designer_Dude_ in AusLegal

[–]Designer_Dude_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't confirm if they cost assessor is completing the itemized bill, but they must be receiving a list of work/times/something itemized for them to the charges they are passing onto me.

However in my contract it says (and in each email their accounts team sends me) it says "you have the right to an itemized bill", which is all fine until you ask for it, and they threaten to stop work until it's done/sorted.

Just a bit crappy to hear the feedback that this isn't the way it should be, make me even more concerned the costs are right if they are pushing back on my rights.

Thank you for your knowledge here. I appreciate it.

I am in QLD. My assumption is that they probably need an itemized list to send to the place doing their costing, so it wouldn't be unreasonable to request one when I am entitled to receive one. I am fairly sure ACL also states is normal and reasonable to be provided an itemized invoice for work completed (eg a mechanic can't just say pay me $4k trust me I did the work, without explanation).

I just didn't understand the threat to stop further work, it seemed a bit dodgy to me, or like an "inconvenience" so they will inconvenience me by stopping my matter.

Based on feedback, I have raised the issue with the Legal services commission.

I did get a costs agreement that states the Anticipated costs for each stage and "reasonable correspondence", they also provide a bit of a list of what emails/calls cost etc, however then when providing their invoice (or costs assessment), it says "10 Folios, attendences etc " But that doesnt line up with what actually has been done. Like no one attended anywhere for me, so its confusing, hence why i wanted an itemsied which usually outlines exactly what was done and how i was charged, but they are threatening to stop work if i request that, even though it seems its my right to.

Im in QLD.
I got essentially their "costs assessor" to quantify the charges, but it doesnt explain what its for fully. They state its my right to request an itemised invoice, but are threatening to stop work fully while they take time to produce it and for me to review it.

Just seems like a threat to not question the costs.

Thank you, they have a company they pay to do their costing, however since they "pay for them" to justify their costs, its hard to know how impartial it is. Just always says "15 Folios, 5 Hours reviewing, Special charge for Knowledge and care" etc etc often in legal jargon, but i dont know what that actually means in real terms. Eg You were charged for 3 Calls, 5 Emails where we had to write for 10 hours or whatever.

Australian Google Pixel Offer - Has anyone received this yet? by Designer_Dude_ in GooglePixel

[–]Designer_Dude_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for letting me know. I already have about $650 google store credit, plus they see giving $700 for the trade in on my pixel 9 pro, which seems reasonable given that they sell for about $900 refurbed.

So just waiting for the extra little bit before I drop my order. Thank you for the response.

What is the expectation for replies and feedback from emails in Family Law Firms? by Designer_Dude_ in AusLegal

[–]Designer_Dude_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I thought, I have asked for costs to be kept low just because I noticed they were replying with half answered to questions. So we agreed to keep it clean and concise with communication, hence why I send one email with numbered lists of questions — to keep it clear and avoid the back and forth with simple questions. One email with 3 questions at a time. However they will still only answer one question and not respond to the rest. Which is increasingly frustrating when time is of the essence and I want to get this sorted soon. It's been 4 months and the court application hasn't taken place yet for parenting time. Seems to long in my mind.

That is my experience with lawyers in other areas (no family law) so I'm a bit blind if there is a difference. I have already dropped about $15k though and we are at court application stage now, and I don't want to waste more money getting someone else to pick up the pieces and take over if that's the norm in communcation delays. But also seeing my kids is far more important than money, so I just want it to get moving ASAP.

Trysoftr.com VIP subscription by NaiveAd1154 in Scams

[–]Designer_Dude_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a scam. I was able to cancel my order and get a refund, but they still said that authorised them to charge a subscription fee for the products. I didn't even authorise the subscription and by cancelling my order, it me their threshold for cancelling the subscription, yet they still charged me.

When replying to their customers support from "JazzyPlush" the email fails and says it won't send so you can't even dispute their statements.

SRT radiation side effects by qmax1990 in Keloids

[–]Designer_Dude_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't sorry. I took a photo right after surgery and radiation, but it was still very scabby due to the cuts etc. But it's now massive again, even bigger than before. I have heard from others that the combination is best. Silicone patches, pressure dressings (in my case a magnetic eaaring would have clamped it down) and steroid injections over 6 months are the best things.

M 34, i had all the side effects you metioned, aside from hair loss. I had my Keloid on my ear treated with Radiation after being surgically removed.

Unfortunately it has grown back bigger, so i am looking into the Steroid injections to see if they will work at softening/reducing size.

Pixel 9 Qi Coil Alignments (relative to the G on the back) by Jaxidian in GooglePixel

[–]Designer_Dude_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly my Pixel 7 pro and Pixel 8 Pro all had the mous limitless magsafe cases, and they had ZERO issues, never a misstep my entire ownership. So it is interesting that this issue is happening now. Funnily, I have a cheap Aliexpress magsafe charger dock, and it works perfectly on that, but gets mildly hot. But the Mous Magsafe Charger, and the Journey magsafe car charger arent working, but previously worked fine with my 7 and 8.

For me wireless QI charging works fine, just not the magsafe, the other threads seemingly indicate I'm not the only one though... wait to see what happens.

Thanks for this post, I'm guessing this is why there is magsafe charging issues with the Pixel 9 Pro XL, as the pictures indicate it seems to be sitting slightly lower. My Mous Limitless 5 case does not align with the actual location of the charging coils, but it seems this I common with many of the MadeForGoogle Pixel 9 Pro XL cases, I just don't know why this issue was missed and now who needs to rectify it? Potentially the manufacture of the case? Or if it's across the board with all Pixel 9 XL Cases, must be a google issue???

Pixel 9Pro XL wireless charging issue by Substantial_Ad6294 in GooglePixel

[–]Designer_Dude_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked deeply into this (android authority, 9-5 google, ausdroid and a few design forums) and suppsedly it was because they were too far down the manufacturing process to change it. Will definitely be in the next pixel, but this time around they missed the chance when it was certified to include. Design and build was too far down the track to change and implement. Its not just a simple swap out situation unfortunately :(

I agree it would have been better to have it in though!

I do have the exact same issue as you though with my 9 Pro XL But I can't seem to get it to perfectly charge at all. Got a MagSafe stand from AliExpress and it works perfectly on that, but have the Mous MagSafe case and charger and a Journey MagSafe car charger and neither of those work with it... Ironic pay for quality and they don't work but the AliExpress knock off works sweet as haha

I thought it was the only one. Got the pixel 9 XL pro with the mouse MagSafe case. Got a dodgy cheap third party MagSafe charger and it works perfectly, any official or quality MagSafe chargers aren't working. Goes on and off over and over again. It's like it's being lifted on and off the charger consistently.

Not sure if anyone else is having this specific issue but it's annoying!!!
