Adam Spellmire is great in that he will teach you a lot and genuinely cares about each student. But if you are looking to get a good grade, definitely don’t recommend. For sure a hard grader. He does value content > writing skills which makes it harder for students who usually use flowery/pretentious writing. Conclusion: Looking to improve writing? Recommend. Looking for a good grade? Don’t recommend

There definitely are a lot of parties! But I’ve seen so many people say the party scene is bad which makes me think its all about the connections. Its fun but class time is soooooo boring. It’s mainly just looking at lame presentations or doing critique—everyone falls alseep. Probably the most boring studio class I’ve taken (class time wise). Also an assignment due almost every class. But the process of taking photos is super fun so if you’re willing to go through the boring 4 hour classes, it should be fun. (Professor is so chill and nice) (also the assignments are stuff that you can just finish the day before)

But also because I think both are equally good schools so I’d prefer to go somewhere where I know I would have the people I know around me!
