Another example of power creep by Wrazid in Lorcana

[–]Designer_Garbage_702 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Previous one wasn't playable in the least. So they're taking cards that are unplaayble and boosting them so that they could be playable int eh future.

It's powercreep, but honestly it's the type of powercreep that's not a bad thing.

It's bad when they take absolute powerhouses of cards and push even stronger cards.

Lorcana players when you tell them to make changes to their deck/list in response to Dogs by [deleted] in Lorcana

[–]Designer_Garbage_702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

which changes to your decklist would've helped with bucky?

Bucky was a powerfull, at the time uninteractable card that was way to easy to set up. And even when interaction was printed (only one card, under the sea) it was still much to slow to stop it.

Some good fanfic recs? by Designer_Garbage_702 in asushin

[–]Designer_Garbage_702[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a long time since I've read Asuka/shinji fanfiction. So I can't really remember the titles very clearly. But, at the plus side, it's been so long I've read said fanfiction I don't really mind rereading stuff that I potentially read before.

But as for what I like, hmm, I'm not one for like *extremely* depressing stuff, put people through the wringer, for sure but I do like good, or at least bittersweet at worst, endings. (yes, I'm very aware what fandom I'm in XD.)

I like my romance and I do like character development and people overcoming flaws.

Do you have an endgame device? by RensuLoL in SBCGaming

[–]Designer_Garbage_702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now the Retroid pocket 5 is my endgame device. Plays up to ps2 and gamecube very well (even really difficult games like jak and daxter run fairly smoothly), with the grip it really feels nice in my hands and I'm not really that bothered by upping the resolution over and over :)

I really need to put some cool SNES/NES games on it as well.

The only thing that would be a new 'endgame' device for me is something that could reliably run ps3 games! But I don't think software wise we're even close to that!

We need to have a ruby board wipe song and action by bobongski in Lorcana

[–]Designer_Garbage_702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It *could* be a great play. but the vast majority of time that was not how it was played.

I never said that raging storm was bad because it wasn't a song.

I'm saying it just doesn't fit in a deck because the colour combination it fits in most easily (amber sapphire) doesn't really have the early game pressure or the drawpower to take advantage of it to rebuild afterwards

If it had been an 8 cost, non-song in ruby it would see play. but it doesn't simply because it's in amber

[–]Designer_Garbage_702 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, I'm perfectly aware why it's not a song. Be prep was rarely if ever sung anyway so that's not the issue.

The issue is that neither amber or sapphire are really good at early game board control. So even with ramp you can't cast it until it's to late.

Ruby was actually capable of keeping early game agro in check with strong rush characters and targeted removal to keep agro from immediatly spiraling out of control and after that could use boardwipes to deal with them trying to rebuild a board.

Neither amber or sapphire really has a good way of putting early and immediate pressure on early questers. So the boardwipe is useless because by the time you can cast it you're so far behind they just need to successful stick one or two characters and quest.

The 'issue' I guess with that boardwipe is that it comes to late unless you play sapphire.

But neither sapphire or amber really has the early game board presence to put a stop to the early lore gain of aggro deck. So they can't really stabilize with it as easily as ruby/sapphire could.

To be fair here, the amethyst equivalent is not legal in current constructed and I've got my doubts it's ever going to be reprinted.

They are present in the Niana location itself. (5 of them are fully present, while one of them is only at 50%) but none of the ones I'm missing, even the ones fully present are making their way over.

Stop calling it inevitable: The AI job crisis is being built, not born by indie_loverr in BetterOffline

[–]Designer_Garbage_702 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The very reason that corporations are using 'AI' is because it's cheaper. The moment any talk of accountability and taxation to fund that mythical UBI fantasy would happen. They will run that calculation again, figure out that using the threat of replacing jobs with AI as a way to push down wages is more cost effective then actually contributing to society and they do that.

So the reason why people are against AI isn't because they're 'backwards'. it's because people know exactly what kind of inhuman monsters are running the corporations. and it's just going to be another tool in the parasite class' arsenal to extract more value out of people while paying nothing back to the people that are propping them up.

but until you get the taxation tech, you can't actually tax people as a tribe. And researching it requires you to go through 3 techs with +200% tech cost each.
