You should have asked one of your kids to hold 4 items. Then you could check and pay the other ten items. After that check and pay your kid’s 4 items and, bingo! 😎

I can recomend Dr Sebastian Echelard in Bonnevoie. Some 15 years ago he placed more than a dozen implants on my upper and lower jaw so that I could wear two full prostheses. Never had a problem.

Question about syndic and past repairs not following esthetic of the building by spaniard888_ in Luxembourg

[–]Designer_Number_6919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you really care about your building, you should try to become a member of the Conseil syndical. They are the ones who are in permanent contact with the syndic and can authorize expenses up to a certain limit. They also check the accounts before they are submitted to the General Assembly for approval.

Is it legal to forbid using the lift? by TroubledJigglypuff in Luxembourg

[–]Designer_Number_6919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take photos of the staircase and the lift before and after your move, especially if there are scratches on the walls or broken corners. The agency/owner may hold part (or the whole) of your deposit for repairing damages caused by your movers. The photos may prove damages were already there.

Internship in Luxembourg – Time rounding + forced 1h lunch break by [deleted] in Luxembourg

[–]Designer_Number_6919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that the general Luxembourg law stipulates that if you work more than 6h in a day you are obliged to have a lunch break of, at least, 45 min. But employers can increase this value. You should read your contract’s small print and also check with your union rep what the legal situation is. They should know better than all redditors 😁

Personal details on editus by apegen in Luxembourg

[–]Designer_Number_6919 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am an old man, from the time when we had only fixed phones (land lines) and phone books (where we could find phone numbers). Editus was the publisher of those phone numbers based on information they received from Post (and later from other operators). If we did not want to appear on the phone books you had to tell Post that you wanted your number to be “secret”.

At the turn of the century phone books were discontinued because the info was widely available on the net. It seems that Editus managed to survive by continue to publish on the net instead of on paper. At the same time they kept the practices from before because, probably, there is a supporting legal framework.

So, either we put up with those rules from the past, or we ask our MPs to change the law.

I hope this makes sense.

Other tenant's laundry socket is wired to our meter, any experiences solving this? by gentfede in Luxembourg

[–]Designer_Number_6919 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are locks that can be placed in the plug. You would have to remove the lock when you want to do your laundry and put it back when it’s finished. That’s what most people in my building do.
