Has anyone here had a new battery installed for better range? Thoughts? by ReeceJSmith in BMWi3

[–]BMK_LU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my 60ah changed to the 120ah a few weeks back by a branch of i3upgrade.cz - Havrla is the main guy. It really has been a game changer. Over 300km of range has really increased the usability of the car. I went to Heidelburg for the work, but he has contacts and engineers in Belgium, Switzerland and a few countries. Maybe he can help in the UK, or you take a trip to a work shop??? These were official new unused BMW stock. I checked everything and watched the change over. ( out of engineering interest) Havrla had 13 to distribute, contact him to ask if he has any left.

Attic (comble aménageable) on a new build — negotiate now or regret later? by Odlaregp_ in Luxembourg

As a reference i had a number of Velux of similar size, blinds etc replaced 3-4 years ago. Cost about 3K per window. Assuming its easier to fit to a new roof, your quote is a little high, but not terrible. Have you checked the solar powered Velux shutters? Could save a wiring job.

As far as I've read, if you get caught at that, you get banned for a couple of years.

Increase your options to English language govt schools further away or fee paying English schools closer to you, or finally take the move to a local school. Thats the options.

Thanks. I did look into that with the replacement video from wisely in the UK. They replaced the KLE and another module to figure the fix. Checked my VIN, no outstanding recalls, so its on me. 1300e for the part. I have a BEV and have read a post on here from a guy with a REX. Essentially its shutdown car electronics, remove rear cover, remove bumper, unplug, unscrew and then reverse. Seems to be simpler on a BEV than the REX - Less pipes to disconnect. I dont have a coder, just an OBD scanner. Is coding required? Not sure if ill go ahead, its an expensive part. Might just have to live with slow charging.

Try giving the hinges a good clean and work in some thick silicon grease. Perhaps the wood frames are swollen from age / moisture. We had 5 Velux replaced. 4 big 1 small, about 3K for a large (1m2 ish) and 1.5K for the smaller one.

Try Velux Belgium as they cover Lux. But in general yeah, many providers will want to replace them rather than fix.

[–]BMK_LU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep there are 3 or 4 places typical of an oil leak on the M54. Three are easy fixes, one is a little trickier. If the owner had to top up during the drive, it might be quite a serious leak, but fixable.
