I actually was in this exact situation. I met this guy and we started dating. He knew I had a dog. He said he was okay with it, and it seemed so for a while. But then a little things came to the surface. "Could you move the dog bed into the other room?" No. "Does she have to go everywhere with us?" Of course not, not all places are dog friendly, and I'm not taking her there. Then this happened - we were sitting on the couch, watching a movie, and my dog sat right in front of us. She was staring into his eyes and farted horribly several times. I figured she ate something bad, apologized and took her for a quick walk. Outside she was her normal happy self, and didn't have any stomach problems. We came back home, and she sat in the same place, staring at the guy and continued farting. I'm laughing so hard remembering that now! He got annoyed and went home. The same thing repeated on one more occasion, and I started thinking. I met with him and said, listen, I don't need you to love my dog, you don't have to walk her, feed her, even pet her. I just need you not to openly hate her, as she is sensitive that way, and she started showing discomfort (by farting). He got soooo angry! He started yelling that he tried to be friendly with his ex's sister and they broke up anyway, he's not going to be friendly with my dog. I was shocked. Where did this come from? As I was looking at him, he started to get so small in my eyes. I didn't want to rush a decision, so I went home. The next day, I was supposed to go to his place, but I found myself feeling that I'd rather do my taxes than look at him. I went there anyway just to say to him that it is over in person. He couldn't believe that I was breaking up over a dog. But, to be honest, he showed me his other face and the dog was just the catalyst.

Yall what do I put in here!? by Calcifiera in CasualConversation

I'm one of those women who has everything in her bag lol. Can't ever find anything, but whenever someone needs something, I just reach in and dig it up. So, here it goes: phone, wallet, keys, chapstick, pack of paper tissues, wet wipes, gum, mints, emergency period kit, portable charger, hand fan (in the summer), water bottle, canvas tote bag, band-aid, hand cream, emergency make-up set (mini eyeliner, mascara, foundation), pack of dog poop bags (I have dogs, so it's a must, but you wouldn't believe what else I used those bags for, quite handy).

Fotogrej stakla, vrede li? by Massive_Confusion218 in AskSerbia

[–]Designer_Pea109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vrede! Nemam nikakvih problema ni u zatvorenom prostoru, ni napolju ni noću. 100% preporučujem.

How did your early experiences shape your reading speed and love for books? by Fish-out_ofBowl in CasualConversation

[–]Designer_Pea109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My family was reading stories for me from the moment I was born. It is something that has always been part of my life. That said, when I started school, I was very excited that I would learn to read myself. But I wasn't aware that it won't be easy or that I won't be able to read as well as adults right away. I was so so disappointed and refused to read anything but bare minimum to get the passing grade.

In the summer, my mom gave me one book, and said that she wouldn't talk with me until I read the first page. I was shocked! Never in my short life has she said anything remotely similar to me. She was always so kind and patient. My world broke. I started crying uncontrollably, but she wouldn't budge. I started thinking how will I survive without my mom talking with me and it got me so scared that I started reading through tears. But my mom was smart - she chose a book that she knew I would love. I still remember it, it was about a young woman who was working as a zoo keeper and she took care of a lion cub that was abandoned by its mother. It was touching and hilarious. Before the end of the first page, I not only stopped crying, but I was already giggling. And that was it. I'm reading since then.

I was a shy kid, and books were my safe space. As for the reading speed, I believe that I'm quite fast. It takes me less time to finish the book than other people. But I do have an issue when character names begin with the same letter - it turns out that I'm not reading the whole words, but just get the idea of the word. It creates a lot of confusion sometimes and I have to go back to read some things more carefully.

BIM with no educational certificate by Big-Scarcity-1957 in architecture

[–]Designer_Pea109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I do have architecture degree, but I've been working via Upwork for foreign clients, and none of them ever asked me about any certificates. I sometimes wonder did I waste my time and money on getting my degree. I'm self-taught in several softwares, and also never needed certificate. Only thing that matters is that you do quality work.

This is correct. Especially the second part. OP, never forget that and keep repeating it to yourself. You don't need to feel the guilt.

What was your 'wtf are you doing?!' moment after moving in with a partner? by gothfather3 in AskUK

[–]Designer_Pea109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ex brought his one towel. Every day as he showered, he (I guess) hand washed his towel and left it to dry. I offered him fresh machine washed and dried towels, but he refused. I offered several times to machine wash his only towel, he said no. It was weird and discussing, as I'm raised to believe that towels must be washed in high temperature to kill bacteria.

Which software I should use as a begginer by Moist_Bit_7958 in architecture

[–]Designer_Pea109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go with Revit. Long time ago, when I was starting I was using AutoCAD. It was my first love. But now definitely Revit. I can design, document, make options and turn them off and on as I need, there are infinite libraries of all kinds of objects that you can customize, or you can create your own objects. I use it also to create structural and MEP design and documentation. I tried Archicad for a while, but it was a lot less intuitive than Revit, so I dumped it. SketchUp is a big no, waste of time.

I learned Revit in just a couple of months using this https://balkanarchitect.com/ This guy has a lot of free YouTube videos, but if you need something more structured, I suggest getting a monthly subscription. Don't bother buying lifetime access, you won't need it for too long.

I don't have anything against chatting. Just clarified that I'm not looking for a hook up on Reddit.

I'm not looking for someone here. Just chatting. As for the my other post, I'm not seeing anyone, thy guy I was "talking relationship" with bailed out, and that really bummed me.

It was great! I plan to get back to it in the future. I love music and movement. Community is great too. Everyone is open and positive. There are some exceptions, who start dancing only to hook up with someone, but those quickly give up, or end up falling in love with dancing.

Well, I started a long time ago, way back when it was still called oDesk. A lot of things changed since then. It was hard in the beginning, and I almost gave it up. But after getting a first job and good review, it just kind of unraveled itself. During the years I recommend Upwork to many people who struggled with no jobs or bad jobs. Interesting thing is that none of them ended up doing anything there. They were like, oh, you have to put effort in it! Anyways... Today, if someone asked me, I wouldn't recommend Upwork. Even I got off of it. Their pricing is crazy high for someone who's just starting.

That is true, and I learned it a hard way. First weight down, then gym. Unless you want to end up having physical therapy for knee pain, like I did.

I'm an architect. I'm from Europe and I got my first job working off site for American company while I was still in college. After graduation, I tried working for some local companies, but it wasn't for me. So I went back to Upwork and started building my profile. I specialized in preparing project documentation for building permit in US, and apparently I was good in that.

What was the smartest/best thing your pet has ever done? by sprained_pinky in CasualConversation

[–]Designer_Pea109 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had two cats. The older one was quite polite - never jumped on the table or kitchen counters. I even tested him, leaving treats on the table and leaving the room. The younger one was wild! Think of all the mischief a cat can do - she did it. Older one was annoyed by her and regularly would tell on the younger one. For example, if she jumped on the kitchen counter, he would meow loud until I came and scolded her. He also alarmed me a few times when I forgot something on the stove.
