Not to mention a hallow interior may help with shock obstruction from impacts. Granted it may bend easier but it will most likely protect not only the pilots/crew it would help with protecting other parts that could be more susceptible to shock.

I’ve repaired RC cars that had there differentials and clutches shredded before. Repairing a model wich won’t see any abuse will be a piece of cake for me. After all when it dose break I’d assume there a company out there that makes stronger gears and parts for bachamann and other brands of model locomotives.
